I am looking at the following which will be discussed with the property owner to confirm all is OK. I would like to fit the first one in with school holidays of some state and if all goes well will do the next states school holidays etc. It's a pain in the bum with School holidays being different each state.
Please advise me of each staes next years holidays. I know there are Teachers and Juniors on the site who would love to attend so do you think it would be a good idea to host this during school holidays...I would prefer June hols as this is much cooler and easier on the southern hunters plus better travelling. Hunting is harder but rewards are great.
PLease vote as your vote counts.
Mick
By "each state's next year's holidays" do you mean this next year as in the rest of 2006 or next year as in 2007?
My holidays are chokkas this year but my vote is for June holidays 2007.
I haven't got the state school holidays for this or next year (private school) but I can try to track them down.

Yes for 2007 would be great if anyone can help.
Mick
2007 state school holidays:
School starts: Jan 29th
Easter:6 Apr - 15 Apr (16th is student free)
June/July:23 June - 8 July (9th is student free)
September: 22 Sep - 7 Oct
school ends: 15 Dec
Hope that helps ya, Mick!

I've got all the dates: The best 10 days is as follows as this gives nearly all the states the time with maybe a day extra before or after.
How about if it's Winter Hols
30th June to 9th July (10 days)
So Vic & NSW need to take 2/3 days before school hols start and Qld needs 1/2 day after school hols as 9th is pupil free.....Does that work out.
Or any other suggestions as there are places for 40 hunters/nonhunters.
so if only say 2 teachers & 2 juniors where looking to go it would be unfair to other members. I know that a couple of families may be interested in coming so give me your thoughts.
The more feedback I get the better planned it will be.

I would prefer the August times, as I wont be able to go at the start of July.
Just me though, if it works out better for everyone else, go for it :)
how far is it from Townsville, and is the road a shocker?
Hefty, is that state school dates or our dates?
Luke ;)

Mozza the property is approx 10-2 hours drive north of Townsville. We usually leave in the afternoon and get there by the next lunch time. Have a roadside camp for that night. Dinner in Mareeba and Breakfast at Hann River Roadhouse.

It is starting to look like we will have to have it in the last week of August say from Sun 20th to 30th. With Bowcomp being in October I can't have the Sept School Hols and it looks like the majority would like it in August or September.......If it goes ahead in August 2007...If a sucess I will look at doing September School Holidays in 2008 instead of Bowcomp or do a Bi-annual event and have it in Sept 2009. Once I talk to the owner I will be able to make the call, as Mustering is a priority up there and I have to work in with him.
So hopefully that will sit OK with most.
When I get the dates I will put all requirements for the members to attend.
Thanks
Mick
