View Full Version : When your son wants to hunt
A few shots from the weekend and Frasers first hunt on the Chital , he has been asking to go since he was five and at seven he was great company and had a super time stalking the spotty ones , he has keen eyes and was able to get into 30m with me once or twice.
The weekend was capped off when we got home and found that his new Bear Kodiak Cub re-curve had arrived from 3 rivers.

Great stuff, Steely.
Can't wait to take the twins out with me.
Mate, I wish there were that many Deer in one place at the places I hunt.
Need a porter, bwanna?
Just brilliant Steely! Nothing like getting the youngn's out and seeing the expressions on their face when they get in so close to a wild animal. Great pics! Scott
How good? I love those fella's :D
Great pics, careful Steely looks like you may have some competition there real soon with your son. And looking at the pics you have a real shortage of deer there, NOT! Happy hunting to you both.

Great stuff mate. He's getting in close early so it won't be long before he gets one. What poundage is he shooting? I'm sure next time he'll be out with his new bow he'll be able to bring one down. Good luck.

It's good stuff Simon. My 10 yo boy has been hunting with his little 40# 48 inch Pearson "Ambusher" for a year now. He's yet to bag a bunny, but he's been extremely close on many occasions. Hunting is probably one of, if not the best, way of bonding with your son.
They are very nice photos mate. You're a lucky man to be able to hunt those beautiful creatures whenever you like.
I've been looking at different camo patterns and I reckon Cabela's "open country" camo would be close to perfect in that country. I'm thinking about buying a couple of cheap t-shirts in that pattern to try out next summer in the fields of dry grass around home.
Thanks for sharing.
