I have a question Sir! I am assuming all hunters will be in groups of 2 like on bowcomp? If so how are ya going to get them hunters onto their respective blocks to hunt? If they got dropped off by someone passing through their block, they would be without a vehicle. Just thinking about if something were to go wrong, like get ripped up or stomped into the dirt buy a nasty beast! Might be a long walk back or a long wait. Remember big Sturat sitting on the side of the track muttering into his uhf "Mayday"! "Mayday"!
Count us in mate sounds good at this stage.
Scott Goodwin/ Jodi Woodhouse
Nissan Terrano 4 seater (2 seats spare)
leaving from Walcha
 I remember that well :D
And the under the bonnet fire and Barry's dehydration and GPS batteries going flat and him walking 2 k's past the 4wd...
at least he got a 29dp boar out of that day, there wasn't much else to smile about....
:D

Scott each vehicle will be that hunting group whether there are 2 hunters or 4 hunters. So in other words if you come with a vehicle you stay with that vehicle/If 2 vehicles are travelling together and they want to hunt with other members of another vehicle that is fine a area will be allocated for each vehicle. I don't care who hunts with who but there will only be 1 vehicle per area (Safety reasons). So I am hoping there will be a maximum of 4 hunters per vehicle that way 2 people hunt together at all times. There may be a vehicle with only 2 people because its a single cab or 3 people because of only a small 4wd.
Scott in your case if you are only coming in the same vehicle as Bowcomp you may be better just the 2 of you as you have to be self contained...it is up to you. You know what you need.
Whilst I have cooking gear I won't be bringing everything like Bowcomp so that is why each vehicle has to be fully equiped for the 10 days.
Use of facilities is available but limited as you know. I don't think one gas fridge will be ok for a possible 30-40 people so a camp fridge freezer is essential per vehicle for meat for example. In most cases 2 might be needed.
Want to make sure everybody understands how it will work. I'm gunna be doing some hunting as well. I'll just be keeping everything rolling along.

Everybody remember...
If you only want to hunt with one other on the trip you don't have to have extra members in your vehicle so if you want to go you can nominate that you are a 4wd with 2 members no spare seat.
Members who do not have a vehicle can wait until vehicles have been nominated and then they can see who is the closest to them and contact to see if they can hunt with that vehicle. it is up to the vehicles owners who and who he doesn't take......That is not up to me but I will be trying to get everybody who wants to go get there.
Mick
Thanks Mick! Understand! The place is certainly big enough. :)

Remember being a member for 6 months means that you have until march 2007 to become one and given the response so far it looks like you will only need to be a active member to come along.....We need vehicles coming from Sydney Melb & Adelaide or just about anywhere....I'm sure you will fill your vehicle with willing occupants.
Even if you are not sure at least get your name in because once the places are filled you can only get on a vehicle that is going.

Thanks

Mick
I'd like to be included if its possible. At this stage it would be just me, so I'd have room for one other person. I would be leaving from Geelong driving a Suzuki Vitara (2 door). There's not much room in the Suzy, but I've done trips like this before with 2 hunters on board and everythings fitted in alright.
Another possiblity might be, I could fly to Townsville and get picked up there by someone, if nobody wants to travel up with me.
Mick
This is a great opportunity for the members here to experience some spectacular hunting at a fantastic price.
Sharing a camp with a group of like minded bowhunters from TBGA will be worth while attending for in itself, let alone the chance to hunt those big toothy Cape York boars.
Don't miss out, book your holidays and get your name on the list before it's too late. :D
Mick,
My son and I would like to be included coming from Mt Evelyn Vic,vechile Nissan Navara 4 seater, 2 seats available may be able to pick someone up on way if needed.
Thanks Andrew :)

Ok verybody I will close final vehicles on the 30/9/06 and if no objections from members of TGBA I will open up to the members who don't meet the criteria as originally voted on.
Please let me know if you object to this as I wanted to get the full 10 vehicles going if possible as this will make the hunt excellent.
Hope everybody is ok with this.
Mick

Jindy I hope to be leaving Townsville on the 18th Saturday and getting to Hann River that night, If you guys can get to Hann River that night it would be good. approx 7hrs from Cairns.
If either one of us doesn't get to the Hann River we will be there Sunday morning by 9-00am for the trip out to Crosby.
We will be leaving Crosby on the 30th for the trip home, if some guys want to leave the arvo before no problems depends on what Flights have been booked.
Mick
Maybe things have changed but I am sure TB will let us know...

Derek I will be going through Townsville on the 14th or 15th to Cairns. I will give you a ride no dramas if needed. All depends on how much gear you have, i will have a trailer so there should be a little room left. I get back into Australia on the 10th. Drop me a PM or i will give you a buzz on the phone & talk to you about it.

Gday Derek, not sure if you require a lift just to cairns or the whole way up the cape ?
If you only need a lift to Cairns i will be driving up on the friday(17th) around midday from Townsville, if you wanna split the hire cost and petrol that'd be no probs.
i'll pm my number ;)
