Gday all,
went down the range today with the chronograph and my huntsman putting several arrow weights through there paces to see how they compared and would like to know how they compare to some other bows out there shooting similar weight arrows.

The Bow; 69# @ 29" huntsman takedown recurve
The arrows;
1. 30" goldtip big game 100+, 3 x 5" feathers, tipped with a 190grain tusker concord and extra weight up the guts total weight 850gr +/- a few grains
this arrow setup shot through 10 times averaged 175fps
2.the second arrow was identical except it had no extra weight in the guts for a total weight of 650gr +/- a few grains
this arrow setup shot through 10 times averaged 238fps

Ok lets start a REAL debate here which one of these arrows would have the best penertration at 20 mtrs?

The arrows were passing through the chrono at 3m and the target made up of heavy cardboard taped together was set up 15m from where I was shootin. the lighter arrows had a 50% passthrough often catching on the feathers the heavy arrows had 100% passthrough & travel up to 20m past the target :wink: there was no noticable difference in arrow drop between the 2 arrow weights at the distance I was shootin

It seems like I may have got something wrong with my chrono and measured somthing wrong :oops: I was just tryin to get a comparison of some other bows out there :) I'll sort this electronic crap out over the next few days and give some more accurate readings :?

either way mate,sounds bloody good

but it is interesting having a chrono to play with

a mate brought one out here,ill get one no doubt in the future as i am a gear junkie...
