Trophy Takers becomes an Approved Hunting Organisation (AHO)

As most will know, the NSW game council has created the opportunity for hunters to hunt in a number of state forests throughout NSW (locations of these can be found at www.gamecouncil.nsw.gov.au). To do so, hunters are required to obtain a R-licence, by joining an AHO and completing an examination run through an AHO.

To cater for its members, Trophy Takers has become an Approved Hunting Organisation through the Game Council NSW. At present we have four Trophy Takers Assessors located in Canberra, Albury and Wollongong. They are:

Mark Southwell, Canberra;

Dale Furze, Albury;

Dave James, Albury;

Evan Scott, Albion Park;

Trophy Takers members wishing to sit the examination to obtain an R-Licence are encouraged to contact Trophy Takers at:

LPO BOX 5129
University of Canberra
Bruce ACT 2617

Email: info@trophytakers.org

Conversely, current TT members can also organise to sit an R-Licence test with another AHO in their area. A full list of AHO’s can be found at www.gamecouncil.nsw.gov.au. Members choosing to go to another AHO to become assessed will have to quote TT’s organisation Assessor number, which is 84.

Bowhunters wishing to join Trophy Takers to enable them to obtain an R-licence through Game Council NSW will have to meet T T's requirements to become a full member. That is, they will have to provide a score sheet and photo of a trophy they have previously taken with the bow, and also have their membership form signed by a current or previous member.
