View Full Version : Douglas Scoring a Fox/cat?
Can anyone tell me the measurments needed to Douglas score a fox skull?
Hey tommo
I don't have pictures at present, which would explain the process better but here go's.
once the skull is cleaned up and boiled out.....
1. measure from tip of nose to back of skull(widest measurement)
2. widest measurement from side to side(eye bone to eye bone)
3. between the 2 k9s (longest teeth on the fox) measurement is taking closest to the roof of the mouth.
widest measurement keeping the calipers square ofcourse
.
every inch is one Douglas point and you carry the 16th, so something like 9 and 8/16 should be the score.
hope that helps.
