View Full Version : BOWTECH ALLEGIANCE
Ok who has one and what are they like?
Went to ArcheryMart the other day and to my surprise they are now stocking the Bowtech range and at good prices to, which has got me thinking of getting one myself now. But wanted some feed back on them first.
I heard that there were some issues with limbs splitting/delaminating. But they recon thats all under control now and was limited to the first few made in the 2006 range.
So what say ye about the Allegiance.
G'day H, mate I luurv mine :D :D and I could ramble on endlessly about the quality, fit of the grip, finish (HD) the overall shootability and the total lack of shock combined with being whisper quite...but nah...just shoot one..and then buy it...and if for some inexplicable reason you don't like it.........buy something else 8)

Like an ELITE E500 :D when they become available. Designed and owned by Keven Strothers, who also designed Bowtech.
Well so far not one complaint from anyone I have spoken to on here or anywhere else. And the issues with the limbs splitting was confined to the first few of the 06 batch so am fairly confident that they will be ok now.
So I think I'm SOLD, just have to convince the minister of war and finances now. Looks like I'll be hocking the old bus for the new Ferrari.
Cheers guys

its best not to say anything bad about other makes as some ppl see it has bow bashing..
a mate thats comes here has one, seems happy with it so far
a few on our forum has them, ive heard of at least two memebers with limb problems, but im sure they have been fixed by warranty
had other hunters here last year,he had two sets of limbs blow on his,and he was not shooting light arrows.he has since gone and bought a mathews.
truthfully their limb problems have not been just related to early 06 models, its been an ongoing thing.
their main man in their designs dept has left and started elite
maybe bowtech may have solved there problems with his leaving???
no bashing here, i hope ur purchase goes well, just some info.
im sure everyone can find some faults with every company

pat :)
As with any piece of equipment it is all in the opinion of the user, for me I don’t like the grip on my Tribute, it's to round at the back and never gives consistent centre shot at 40 metres or further, I had to get the file out and fie a the back edge flat for my style of shooting, this has nothing to do with he quality of the product just not the right design to suit my shooting style, that was the only real thing I did like about my BowTech.
I replaced mine with the Shewd grip and now she is a nail driver!
As far as limbs go, the Tributes have had the lowest number of returns under warranty due to the fact there is allot lower stress on the limbs and they are thinker than the Allegiances at the working part of the limb, also like most bow companies BowTech don’t make the limbs, its outsourced so the problems they had was due to there either production faults or quality not bad design IMO.
I have had my Allegiance for few months now and its been a pleasure to take bush.
Great hunting bow IMO

I know nothing about the Bowtech. Just wanted to say good luck with it if you get one Hood.

I had an idle wheel from a Bowtech, clip me as it went over my shoulder, when the limb split across the axle hole, back in 2001.

Have a mate who has one, nice, but they lack a little in their general finish and also his grip had some nasty sharp angles sticking out. He has also stripped a set of limb bolts and I get the feeling he may be less than impressed with his. Nevertheless, one lemon doesn't make an orchid. :D
