I really like the look of the Equus. A member of this site owned one and was impressed with it's performance. The price seems more than reasonable too. I reckon 45# would be OK, but 50# would be better. I think you would be able to handle 50# alright, but you want to be sure because "over bowing yourself" is a common mistake. You need to be able to pull it back easily and be able to hold it at full draw for a few seconds without getting the shakes. My eleven year old son has no trouble with his 40# bow, but he's big for his age.
Those Copperhead "Silverwood" shafts are an excellent choice. Be sure to get ones correctly spined for your draw length and your bow. The archery dealer will be able to help you there. He will be able to help you buy the gear to make your own arrows too. You will need a fletching jig, a tapering tool, some Araldite glue (for your points/broadheads), some fletching glue (Fletchtite), some nocks and of course some feather fletches (3 x 5 inch). You generally buy your arrow making stuff in lots to make a dozen complete arrows.
You will have to cut your shafts to the right length (your draw length plus an inch for safety). Cut your tapers (both point and nock). Sand and seal your shafts with polyurethane clear to avoid warping and to keep the water out. Glue your nocks on and then start fletching. Glue your points on last.
It might be best to get all the stuff you need and then we can go through it all step by step. The dealer where you buy the gear will be able to help as well.
Good luck! :D
