Hi Jesse, as far as nocks are concerned I believe they are a one off use, unless of course the nock has simply fallen off through incorrect adhesive choice. A lot of popular adhesives, including various fletching glues, contain MEK(methylethylketone) which actually liquifies the bonding surface of the nock and forms a type of chemical/mechanical bond between itself and the mating surface. The upshot being that to break this bond you literally will have to destroy the nock, for safety sake chuck it in the bin and get a newy.

Hi Jesse,
It depends on the nock type and how it was fixed to the arrow. Some are press fit nocks, some are in / out nocks, some are pin nocks and some are glued to the shaft.
Can you elaborate on the arrow type and nock brand?

My nocks are easily removed/repostitioned. I switched from fingers to a release aid and had to rotate all my nocks to make sure the cock vane (haha cock vane) was where it should be. My nocks arent glued at all, they fit very snuggly. I have removed several of them to check arroows etc without problems.

mate, normally most carbons are just press fit
most alloys have the tapered end and are glued,or u may have them inserted and glued
woods are glued on the tapered ends
most times dipping in reasonably hot water will do the trick

In target archery, some guys replace their nocks regulary, one guy, who was a big name in past years, told me he used to change his nocks after every comp.

Why??? Did he think it was just one less thing to worry about if he always had new nocks?
They dont go bad that fast do they?

Don't tell me you've never looked at the "used by" date on your nock packets?

When your shooting groups, it pays to check them, I don't go through as meny as I used too, when I was shooting better.

I see what you mean Wareagle I never thought of that. Mainly because I for one dont have to worry about shooting such tight groups. I bow to your superior intellect.
