Just wondering if any one has any spare or new arrows that they want to sell or give away. Any size will do as long as the spine is ok for my 48# bow. Just the shafts on their own are fine also and i'm looking for inserts, vanes and broadheads too. If anyone wants to sell a fletching jig as well, new or used i dont' mind just give us a yell.

Thanks boys

since im new to bowhunting i'll be losing a lot of arrows to i don't want to go and spend $100 dollars or more on just 12 arrows. I'm better off just looking around to see if anyone has used or new arrows that they are looking to sell for a cheaper price.

Thanks for you interest sparra!

mate,i have to agree with sparra..

u want the right arrows to match ya bow.

get some carbons.

if u get onto say some goldtips terminators for around 70 odd a dz,cheaper if u buy 5 dz or more from archery mart, but u will also need fletches and a jig etc...

or get onto rob at casino archery has carbon express fro 75 bucks a dz including nocks and inserts, but again ull need jig and fletches..

u should nt be losing them, get urself a good practise butt..

dont know waht ya set up is at home ,if its safe to shoot there,,a few bales of hay as a backdrop, some bgas filled with plastic to stop the carbons..

all the best mate...

cos i live in a metropolitan area i think bales of hay are out of the question! i've been into archery mart a few times and they do have some good stuff. might have a look at their terminator shafts.

thanks pat

I live in Adelaide metro area, you can still get hay bales easy. Just look in the yellow pages for your local feed/fooder store, theres a few around. Hay costs like only $5 or $6 each and they also sell sacks or woolbale bags at alot of them. Grab one of those and stuff it with plastic bags or get Neoprene waste offcuts (can be had for free normally). Just always make certain if you shoot in an urban area that the set-up is 100% safe and theres no way at all for a stray arrow.

A brick wall behind the hay bales and you know the arrows can't go any further. Always be extremely careful and be certain of whats behind your target. You can always join a local club or goto a archery park/range for practice.

Hood,
I'm not in any clubs as yet and not certain of which I will join or if I'll join one. There is a archery park not far from where I live where I can pay to use their range I'm told so I will make good use of that I think. I'm just starting out as a noob to archery to be honest mate. All I've done so far is shoot in a safe spot I set-up here at home and on a friends property. So far all I'm good at is killing alot of arrows lol, I live about 25-35 mins drive south of Adelaide (CBD)

I just use a old TV box stuffed with old material and plastic bags and they last for ages.
I also have a bale sack stuffed with plastic bags as well for shooting broadheads into. It's much easier to get them out of the sack then the box, cause if they get stuck you just need to push them through or open the bag.

Either way they both work for me and were cheap as to make. apart from buying the TV to get the box

I bought a nylon wool pack (don't know where you would get one in the city, though.)

Then go to a hardware type shop, or a nursery, and get them to save all the plastic wrap (like glad wrap on steroids) that they get around drums of chemical, sacks of fertiliser etc. on pallets.

Stuff this in the sack, it is waterproof and stops arrows beautifully. From 10 metres mine go in about 18 inches. (70lb compound)

It only took two weeks for the two rural supplies comapnies in my town to collect enough of the stuff to fill my bale and make my target.

Puk.

P.S. Get some wool-bale "staples" (little wire things), and you can hook cardboard targets to the front of your bale wherever you want.

To tell you the truth Pat,
I haven't packed it tight enought to stop broadheads from my 70lb Phantom. I shot one of Woody's supremes into it and it went 30cm out the back! I got my vanes back in reasonable nick but haven't done it since.

I did shoot some heads into it when i had the 50lb recurve, and it stopped them alright, but the plastic clings and they don't come back out. I kept finding that i had to open the top of the bag and unscrew the heads to get them out.

Puk.

I practice with broadheads on a mate's hayshed.
