well guys it finally arrived, my new bow from kustomking (had to order out - impossible to buy a hunting bow at the local archery shops over here). its a tamars impala takedown recurve @50lb. a reasonable bow for the price(which is cheap!), but i've found it difficult to get the limbs aligned after stringing up. got the problem sorted though eventually. 8) anyway i know its pretty fast but i've decided to order another bow - this time its a martin mamba @ 60lb - cant wait. :D  i've got a sweet sallary to play with over here so i can afford it with ease. anyone shot the mamba?whats your opinion? :?:

like to hear your opinions guys

yeh mate i heard martin bows have a really good reputation so i thought i cant go wrong with this one. 8) the tamars is a cheap bow - nothing more nothing less. and it'll make a great bowfisher and bash around peice for those sorts of rougher activities. the biggest dissapointment with it was that while it has a really nice riser, the limbs are a bit of a letdown in terms of quality (read - black plastic limb tip overlays/poor finish/poor limb alignment.......etc). i'll get some pics up on this post and give you fellas a look.i heard the mambas a pretty quick bow - so how does it go in terms of handshock/noise etc.

ps:axe - is that avatar a portrate of you out hunting or what?

Brian:
Are you sure it is plastic, and not Phenolic to allow for fast flight type strings?

pete - i've owned bows with the phenolic tip overlays and trust me mate - this is plane black plastic. i got the bow for $215US (new) so this doesnt really suprise me. the bow came with a dacron endless loop string which has already left marks in the tips. but i'm not that worried because of the price and the bow is a good shooter. took it to the local range the other day. end of the day i was grouping into 12"@ 30 meters - which is about as well as i've ever done at that range. 8)

just got off the email with kustom-king. they`re out of mambas at the moment (guess they must be popular) - but thats ok - i'll just get one later. 8) anyway i ordered a bear kodiak magnum @60lb instead. a nice looking bow - and compact (52 inches) - should be a good bush bow. do any of you guys have any experiance with the kodiak magnum?
