I've been looking for a cat quiver or similar here in Oz without success. Can anyone advise where I may purchase one, or recommend anything as an alternative similar in style.
Thanks
Adam

Thanks Pat.
Having never seen one in the flesh. How many arrows will they hold? Do they hold the arrows so they don't hit each other?
I'm thinking of getting the Cat Quiver I, and the cat quiver III. Is it quality gear? (I know you don't usually fuk around)
Thanks.

mate i feel they are well made, they will take a good 8 arrows maybe 10,u push the heads into the top foam and that keeps them secure and separate from each other..

i dont have the bum bag models, but was thinking of it,i like v1,

ive got 2 mini quivers, i use them on longer day trips, fill up my bowquiver and then an extra supply at the back.

never heard a bad word on them

Pat,
Do you mean the heads go to the top into the foam? I used mine with the heads down, too dangerous with them so close to your head with nothing but foam to stop them from pushing through.
Cheers, Fenton.

That's the funniest thing I've ever seen you write, Pat! The only NEGATIVE thing I've heard about Cat Quivers is that some 'squeak' due to the foam-compression style of arrow retention. A bloke wrote that they would be perfect if they had a rubber arrow holder attached midway that secured the shafts, as bowquivers have.

I have one, I think mine might be a catquiver 3?? anyway...

They are certaintly good and allow you to carry a decent number of arrows out of the way and keep the weight off your bow.

The only problems I have found with mine are:

1. They are hard to crawl while wearing, the top seems to push on the back of your head making it harder to look up,

2. you have to take the whole backpack/quiver off to put an arrow back in (pain if you are getting arrows out a lot)

3. If you have long arrows (like myself) the bottom extends down below your butt and makes it hard to sit down while wearing one. (I actually had a deer walk out 10 metres from me while glassing and found it difficult to get an arrow out due to the awkward angle the catquiver was pushed up at from sitting down)

To make them truely stealth for hunting deer I recommend wrapping some cloth around the aluminium arms to stop that "tinging" sound if you bump an arrow against it as you take one out, also glue some cloth or felt to the plastic broadhead guard to prevent the same.

Also, I removed the hip strap to give the quiver more freedom of movement if you do try and sit down while wearing one

But besides the negatives, I believe they are a good all rounded quiver

Hope this helps, Tim

She's all good Pat, some people are allowed to make mistakes, only some  . I never got used to mine, it felt to stiff and I hated getting arrows out of it, and talk about pain in the arse to get back in. Pat will know what I am talking about hunting up that way in Nov, in a days walk you might have an arrow out twenty times a day easy. Now days the Mule Camelbak and 6 arrows in the quiver with another 4 strapped in with leccy ties is all I need. Bring on Nov this year.
Cheers, Fenton.

Pat, I have been going up to the lower Gulf for about 15 years now, have been lucky to have access to a place only a few blokes have access too. I love it, only personal death will stop the annual trip up there with the boys  .
Cheers, Fenton.
