What exactly does "tuning your bow" mean. i've heard this phrase a lot but not sure what it means. sorry if it sounds a bit dumb.

Well sir, Its kinda like tuning a vehicle so you get the optimum performence from it.
How vauge is that?

Go to the Easton site (http://www.eastonarchery.com/downloads.asp) download the Tuning Guide and read it heaps. Try what they suggest, then if you need more help, you'll find it here.

All bows have a manufacturers settings to get the best performance out of their equipment.

Bow tuning is just getting the bow into the spec that it should be from the factory.

Other tuning is having the accessories, that are put onto the bow, in the proper position for optimal arrow flight and accuracy.

Factory spec is an intitial guide as to what configuration the bow should be in in relation to Axle to Axle length, brace height etc.

True tuning is finding the sweet spot that a bow shoots at for the user. This can depend on the type of hold the shooter uses (High or low wrist), the type of cams on the bow and other things.

It may sound a little anal but 1/2 twist in a cable or yoke can make quite a difference in the shooting of the bow.

I dont know if you have a single cam bow or not,but this site is really good if you do.(If you dont it could be a bit boring :D )

yeah it is all a bit confusing but i reckon i'll keep it real basic now cos by arrows are flying pretty good out to 30 metres and are hitting the target pretty spot on. thanks for you input guys
