View Full Version : Glues and things
Just wondering what takes off the remaining fletching glue from an arrow if i want to refletch once again? also what happens if your bow gets wet, like the cams and arrow rest etc?
cheers jpbon
I just use isopropyl (99% pure) and my finger nails so far, don't know what is best to use though as I'm still a total noob. As for the bow getting a little wet I wouldn't think it would matter too much so long as you dry it off well. I have seen in stores and on eBay rain covers that you can get though.

A coat of light oil ( like sewing machine or air tool oil) will help as well.

I scrape the remaining glue off with a knife, then use acertone to clean the arrow and the base of the fletch. Thats if your using alloys.

what if you're using carbons (gold tip terminators).

I have a old pocket knife I use that is pretty blunt and you sort off scrape with the blade standing upright instead of cutting.

Ditto.
one of my knives has a serated edge to the back half of the blade the last seration is a perfect half circle and is the exact size to suit a carbon shaft so I us that to scrape the sahft clean works a treat.
