Well today simon and i went for an afternoon walk in the flinders. simon with his compound and i with my samick recurve and brand new 55# limbs that took about 3 months to get here!
Well to make it quick from where we parked we saw our first mob of goats. There were a few small billies and a hand full of nannies with them. We snuck up on them with simon closeing in about 40m above me and with things looking better from his position i opted to watch. As he crept within range one of the nannies saw one of us and started to walk off. I quickly jogged up behind the back of the mob and saw a shooting window open up on a small billy quartering away. Before i knew it the arrow was away and hitting him a little far back only getting the back of one lung. But he only made it 100m to the creek before stumbling and falling over dead.
I was stoked its like getting your first goat's all over again when useing trad on them! I shot him from right on 20m which is a bit of a long shot atm for me but it came off alright so i'm happy with the end result.
We chased a few more stinkies around that day but simon seemed to be cursed with bad luck .
All in all it was a good day to be out amongst the rocks steep ranges and its been a long time between breaths so i hope to not let so much time slip by again.
Here is my billy, not big in anyones books but a hard earned trophy in my books considering how flighty the buggers are from shooting and mustering preassure.
