If you are not REALLY wanting to sell goods on the site dont go through the whole neg. process and agree on a price and terms and agreements only to then send a PM a week later saying you are keeping it.What ever the reason IMHO if you do a deal and finalise it then you have no right to withdraw it at the last moment. :xBut mabey that is just me.

Luke I didnt put a name cause I didnt want to cause a &^%$ fight. It just really annoyed me because if ME as business did that then I would get run out of town(rightly so) but as a private sale I got a pm with "I like it again now hope you aren't to dissapointed"after a week hearing nothing.
I have not and will not answer that or any other pm's from him.He can go and Waltz with a Native K9.

I understand people's reasonings for not naming others who pull out of deals...but this is for both positive and negative feedback on sales remember.

How can we help ensure that it doesn't happen to others? By making sure we report bad dealings and dishonesty when it happens.

Yep...I had a bloke buy a bow, said he wanted it definately. Then I get a pm saying something had come up and could I hold it a week ( turned down another buyer due to this ) next thing he is on the site bragging about his "new" bow bought through these classifieds THEN I finally got a pm saying that he wasn't interested any more.

It shows bad manners to pull out of a sale after some effort has been made to negotiate, but really a deal isn’t done until the goods or the money have changed hands, has it?

People pulling out is just normal, and if it happened in a shop (like someone gets the shopkeeper to pull the goods down off the shelf and talk them up, and then the buyer says “no thanks” before the cash changes hands) we would think twice about it, but on the internet everything has a different feel to it. We like to think we are connected somehow with the person on the other end, but really, until you actually meet them they are no more than the sum of their actions, (as my wife is often saying “imaginary people” :) ).

We all would like to know who was yanking your chain Kimall, if for no other reason than to be able to avoid a similar thing happening to us.

Yer there was a hint in the post it was Dances with Dingoes.I am a bit calmer about the whole deal now I have slept on it but still not happy.
Jindy I see what you are saying but look at this way,A shop advertises a item for sale and then when you get to the checkout you are told that no I think as it is the last one I might keep it for someone else I think you would prob give them a bit of a serve.Anyway onwards and upwards I have spent enough time thinking about this "GENTLEMEN".I am off to the shed to make one.
Cheers KIM

Kim Im sorry you feel that way although you could have quoted the last pm in its entirity, especially the bit where I offered to 'lend it to you'. You might also recall I was reticent to sell it in the first place, however I was playing with a compound at the time and thought you had 'the greater need' however. For those interested I was not buying a product nor did I advertise it directly for sale, merely made the stupid mistake of replying to a 'wanted' post in the classifieds. Ive since taken up the longbow again and as I intended in the first place, would like to use a bow quiver on it. So sue me for hanging on to my own property. What was I thinking when I sent you the pm humbly apologising and offering to loan it to you until you found one?
I too have had a similar thing occur on this site however I chose not to publically whinge about it and got on with living my life, I suggest you do the same. :P
