Does anyone know how to make a home made fox whistle?
I read about it a few years ago in a shooting mag. It involved a strip of tin about 3cm wide and 10cm long, a nail is punched through both ends then you fold the tin in half and the holes line up and you blow through the holes to get a nice screaming rabbit sound. I cant quite remember some of the finer details. Apparently 1 hole is larger than the other and they must be punched out in a specific direction.
If any of u fellas have heard of this type of whistle and can fill in the gaps in my knowleadge it would be great to hear from u!

I remember as a kid seeing oldies make a fox whistle out of a jam tin lid, a hole was punched in the middle and then it was bent over,I never used one , I used to use wheels off my younger brothers train set. :D

ok a strip of tin 3cm wide and 10cm long fold it in half length ways so it is now 3cm by 5cm strip now measure 7mm in from the bend and mark it in the center drill a 1.5mm hole through both folded strips un bend the tin and then drill a 2.5mm hole in one side .bend the tin back down to about 22.5 degrees and there you have it when blowing it make sure the small hole is to the top and the tip of your tongue touches the fold
it will take some time to get sound out of it as it is just like whistling with your fingers takes time to learn but once you got it down pat its easy
that whistle is loud so it is best to blow the buttom whistle first and then get the loud one cause if the is a fox in close and you blow the load one first you will scare the crap out of him trust me
good luck fella

I figured someone here would have made one before. I'm pretty sure i'll have a spare hour at work tomorrow to tinker away it :)
Thanx again mate, i just hope its not too late for them to come to the whistle, but i'll be giving it a crack anyway

Cam, please forgive me, but... I believe you had the perfect whistle on ya face the other day, if you had blown thru that little puckered orifice, or squeezed those two little round nodes between its legs, I'm sure it would have made a whistling sound, and when not in use for that, kept ya face warm.
