View Full Version : Stonecutter Broadheads
I have heard of these broadheads before but have no idea on how good they are. Does anyone know how they compare to other broadheads and especially Woody Outback Hunters? What is the retail price for these heads anyway.
thanks
Never heard of them mate, what do the look like, 2 blade, screw in etc
I had never heard of them either, so I searched and found them on ebay. They are a 3 blade replaceable head made by Crescent Archery Products.
IMHO if you wanted to go that way then there are better heads around. Just ask Woodstocka, he bought some cheap ones and wasn't happy with them.
I bought a few, haven't used them yet.
I will keep one in my bow quiver, but i am not too optimistic about their ability to hit anything bigger than a capillary and still be re-usable. The ferrule is extremely light and feels "plasticcy", and the blades are razor thin. I suppose that is the point, but they don't fill me with confidence.
Maybe i will use one if i absolutely have to take a shot at the extreme extent of my range, as the three-blade might fly a little better, but tjat's about it.
I am still sticking with Woody's hunters and supremes. Better price per broadhead, and more importantly, better value per shot. Divide the $3.50 price tag by the amount of times you can use one of woody's heads and resharpen it to use again, and you can't lose.
Puk
Top point Puk. i have to admit that the outback hunters are an extremely durable head as i have hit many things with it other than my target and it does not bend or crumble. the thought of a reasonably cheap 3 bladed broadhead still fills my mind though. if you manage to use one Puk, let me know because i would like to see how they go.
thanks
