hi guys i just wanted to know how you clean your strings i tryed putting the hair dryer over the strins to melt the wax and then quickly ran a tea towle up it and i was suprised at how dirty it was and how mutch wax build up there was i found that by doing this i didnt even have to wax the string because the hot melted wax that was stillin it covered it like a coating and it looks like new :D
Woodstoka,
I personally would not put the heat from a hair dryer anywhere near a synthetic bowstring. heat will soften more than the wax if you were not extremely careful.
Check your brace height to make sure you havent weakened/stretched your bowstring. Your string may be ok, I hope, but IMO it's not a safe practice for bowstrings.

The friction from rubbing the strings with a clean cotton cloth is enough to clean and remelt the string wax.
