With my first hunt coming up in October, I had the idea of canvassing our ranks for some words of wisdom and thought I'd make it interesting and turn it into something like a competition (except I'm to pov to put up a prize  ) for the best one line Word of Wisdom.
They can be funny or serious entries, I thought it could just be a continuous thread that can peeter out and fall off the bottom of the page as we run out of one liners.

So let the cliches begin :)

Jono.

How about:

If you blow a stalk for your big brother, he will kill you!....

I really like the old: "Walk a little, look a lot" saying

Any other ideas?

"The sharp pointy bit goes to the front!"

Of course I meant to shoot that one!

No I'm not lost I am right here!

You can't shoot what you can't see!

Enjoy yourself

if you ever drop your arrow on the ground off your rest forget that one and grab a new one from your quiver as there is less movement required.

i learnt this a long time ago

Better isn't always good.

Shoot at game when you have the chance and don't always assume there may be a bigger trophy over the next gully or hill.

If your are prepared to release the arrow then be prepared for the consequences afterwards. Ethics is a must.

I will always be right behind my mate, so if we have to turn and run I will be in the lead!

Sit down in a likely place and "tune into" the bush for 30 mins or so before going into hardcore hunting mode.

Don't think to yourself that you are doing well in the bush. I did this weekend, fell down a hill, bruised my arm badly and twisted my bad ankle. Pride comes before going A over T in spectacular fashion.

Hey, at least no-one was looking.

You didn't take a tumble coming home in the dark, did you? Heal quickly and get back into it, mate.

First thought when i hit the ground :"Does my drawing arm still work?"

I slipped and rolled so that my bow would be above me not under me. I took the impact on my triceps, which i was prepared for. What i wasn't prepared for was the small bit of wood sticking out of the ground under my right tricep. So i have some cool bruises, but nothing too bad. The ankle i did an hour and a half later.

Raring to go for October Luke.
