G'Day Everyone...Just wondering if anyone can tell me how long it may take for a Checkmate recurve to arrive from the states?.I ordered the Bow in December and Chad put it in the post about 1 week ago. I know some of you have purchased bows from Chad and was hoping you could shed some light on the how long it took for your bows to make the journey to OZ via the regular mail system he uses..

I haven't got a bow from Chad but I did buy a second hand Checkmate about 6 weeks ago and it took 7 days from the time it was posted to arrive at my place.I have also bought compounds from the states and the time has varied from 7 days to 4 weeks...A backpack I bought took 2 months...

Mate ask him for the number off the customs slip then go to this link
http://www.usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm
and type in the number in the box and press go.
Im waiting for a bow at the moment and it just says its accepted so far which means it has not left america yet.
Once it leaves on the plane you will probably get it in the next 2 days.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll follow up on that customs number. I'm also thinking with all the recent terror allerts in may stretch things out a little.
Thanks again ....Dave

I've bought a Chek-mate bow from Chad and it took around about one week to arrive. It wasn't sent by USPS though, it was too long, it came via courier.

Chad is a great bloke to deal with. He originally quoted me US$35 for postage via USPS and when he realised the bow was too long (56 inch "Atilla"), he sent it by courier for about 3 times the price. When I found out about this, I insisted that I pay the extra, but he refused to accept it. I sent some extra money anyway. How's that for good old fashioned honesty and service?

I've got another Check-mate currently on order (ordered in Feb this year). It should be ready for shipping any day now. It's a 3 piece "Hunter". I'm really looking forward to receiving it. 8)

Rory

I can't help it mate, as I'm really looking forward to getting it. :)

I spoke to Chad the other day and he reckons it won't be far away now. The 6 months are up, but this waiting time is only approximate, for it depends on the number of bow orders Marc (the bowyer) has to process at any given time.

I didn't realise that I was talking about it all the time. I suppose it's just on my mind. It's nice to be able to look forward to something. 8)

How about some photos of your Chek-mate? I'd love to see what it's like.

Yeh Dave show us some pics,
Ive got to wait till december for my Huntsman recurve to be made and its seeming like the longest wait ever but good things come to those who wait right?I was one of the last to get an order in for one as Mark is not taking any orders for the bows at the moment.

Heres some pics of my bow thanks to Jefro for the help.
It is Shedua ,Bocote riser with Black Wallnut limbs and shoots a 460grn cedar quite well, poundage is 55@27.It seems to be quite a stable bow possably due to the wide limb design..will have to go hunting to try it out....

Dave

It's very pretty mate. It looks like a Hunter 1 model. The shedua and bocote look great together. 8)

I reckon it will shoot every bit as good as it looks too.

Thanks for the photos.
