Well these are the Final dates for 2006 28th October - 4th November.
While others are having trouble getting to the Pigs this season !Bowhunters lodge is having great sucess with plenty of good boar's , Dingos, and a absolute fantastic scrub Bull taken a few days back, with around a 90cm ( Yet to be measured properly) spread its one big set.
father and son, john and adam from casino were our first clients.
john managed to take a cracker boar, first morning and its his first ever pig ,let alone boar, what a way to start a hunt.

son adam finished last day with a massive scrub bull which just walked out from behind us as we were stalking for boars.taken at 30 metres ,quartering away. thats a great way to finish the hunt.

young clay who is the propertys owners son, just turned 10 late july this year,i sourced him a bow and after a lot of practice each day, came out and took his first ever pig, first ever bowhunt and nailed it with a nice shot at 8 metres.
keep a look out for this young fella, has his eyes set on a boar next time and woody on his visit has left him with a few of his supremes.

my son sam,16 with his first cracker boar, taken at 10 odd metres using my mathews outback [i think its gone now :) ] and tipped with some first cut 145g heads.this head has taken a small scrubber the other day ,this boar and then later another nice boar that i manged to have a crack at.
sam is one happy fella, well done son :)
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m282/Willy099/Picture245.jpg
adam with another nice boar taken at 3 to 4 metres if ur lucky, walking towards him.his mathews legacy sent the blackstump tipped carbon rebel shafts cleanly through him and the boar ran past him and expired at the lagoon less then 15 metres away. great shot :)
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m282/Willy099/bowhunterslodge287.jpg
graham otto who is a very well known hunter up in the north came along with woody for a few days and manged to take a few good boars whilst trialing woodys new range of hunters. very impressive blood trails.
this bloke otto took nicely with his jennings bow and alloy shafts tipped with woodys wide cut hunters at less then 22 metres whilst the boar was enjoying a cooling wallow in one of the dams.

I see he taken a step forward maybe, but from a guy that have been bow hunting a VERY long time with over 18 boars over 30 points to his name its good to see that he I willing to try something new, well almost he’s still using those alloys I see.

Rob was using one of his new Ross bows, man they are sweet to shoot and had his shafts tipped with two bladed first cuts broadheads

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c87/aussiehunter1964/PA190027.jpg
Have a look at these fighting pads, this is why ya need razor sharp cut on contact heads along with a reasonably heavy combined weighted shaft and broadhead. shot placement is key on these boars :)
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c87/aussiehunter1964/PA200060.jpg
Bob Hart came for a good week as well, took this nice trophy boar ,cracking 26 points. clean one arrow shot Kill.
well done Bob :)
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c87/aussiehunter1964/patscamera027.jpg
Mark Tebbutt (NSW) ,also a first timer up here in the cape ,hunting boars with a bow,had a ripper trip taking 5 good boars,3 went 28 plus :)
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c87/aussiehunter1964/Picture2255524.jpg
And finally my son Sam went out after the boys all left along with young 10 yr old Clay and on there own ,sam took a clean one arrow shot on this toothy boar at 8 metres.
Used the new Mathews Switchback XT . the boar pulled short and went 25 6/8ths. just goes to show u never know what ull get til u boil them out :)
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c87/aussiehunter1964/patscamera070.jpg

2007 is going to be an exciting year, Pat & myself wish you every luck and good fortune in your Bowhunting endeavours, a few more of those PUK goats from valley of the giants would be cool to see. Was the highlight for me in 2006 to see that big Billy pop up on here.
