Well Ive owned both a Jag and Couple Sabers.
The Jag was a dyna cam @ 70 lbs.
One of the Sabers was a Dyna cam @ 80 lbs.
The other Saber was a twin cam @ 70lbs. ( Cant remember if it was a nitrous cam or not.)
All 3 bows had magnum limbs if I recall correctly.
In my opinion the Jag was the better bow than both my Sabers.
Dyna cam being a single cam is slower than the nitrous cam but alot easier to tune and keep tuned.
IMO the trade off from the speed of the nitrous cams to the ease of maintenance in the dyna cam was worth getting a dyna cam.
You cant go wrong with either bow.
I hope this helps ya a little.
If I can be of any more help just let me know.

or would i be better off with the reflex game getter $455 from hoddywell
they have:
Cam & 1/2 rotatable draw adjustment
Machined riser
Sealed axle bearings
39 1/2" axle to axle
7 3/4" brace height
4" draw range on cam 10lb weight range
Weight range 50lb- 60lb 60lb- 70lb
Right or left hand

is that good better thn the jag or saber???? the reflex is cheaper but not by much. Would the reflex soot a 32 inch draw length?

hugearm, Just asking mate

But you say you are thinking of getting another bow because your current bow 'hurts you'... are you shooting a 35# recurve? Because I cannot really see if 35# hurts you, then why are you looking at bows of 50+ pounds :? :?:

I see you are a junior, do you seriously have a 32" draw

Sorry it might be me  , I just don't understand :?

yeah mate i got a 32 inch draw i think! because i have been to an archery shop and they make me up 32 inch arrows but when im at full draw i still have like an inch or two left over. Ummm see I only get to shoot my bow about once a month cause where i live i cant shoot it and i live 70kms away from my club. We had an ABA shoot on the weekend and i hadnt shot my bow for about a month and a half and by the second round on the 1st day my shoulder was hurting and i was snap shooting not even coming to full draw. Thats why i was wondering if i should by a compound and give it a try but yeah im easy aslong as im shootin arrows its all good

Huge arm you dont' have to be shooting arrows to work you bow muscles.
Why not just pick up your bow each night/every second night and just draw it backa few dozen times holding it a couple of seconds then letting it down thats what Ihave done in the past with big breaks between shoots and it worked a treat for me.

kool sounds good ay i will have to give it a try !!. If i went to compound i would keep my recurve anyway prob so it would be all good. I also am not a very good shot with my recurve as i dont get enough practice so i wont go for my hunter profeicency test till i know i will pass. so i dnt no what i will do yet lol, would still like to know bout the bows i have mentioned above thanks

I just bought a saber after shooting recurve many moons ago in school. Very happy with it. My saber is at 31 inch and pretty sure there isn't much left in it.
I had sore shoulders after shooting it the first time but I've been down the paddock letting a few arrows go after work this week and no more sore shoulders. Maybe try some chin ups, light weights or push ups.

go the gamegetter mate... all the technologies of hoyt, but at half the price... however, i dunno what the case is with the martins, but without shock absorbers, the reflex is a little shaky, but im comparing that to my powertec...

wud the reflex suit 30+ draw??

wazza_X force
24-08-06, 06:25 PM
yer mate, they go up to either 31" or 32", but they support the cam and a half system, so they will have a draw RANGE, wich will mean you can adjust it yoursel between 29" and 32", or whatever it is... but youll have 3 inches of adjustment....

G'day Michael, mate I've got a Martin Jag and I love it, small, light, very fast and very tuneable. Being a very short ATA I find using a release preferable, but hey that's just my opinion.

do yourself a favour mate. the gamegetter is an older deleted model now, and not many people are getting them any more...

have a look at the new reflex excursions... its a heaps better bow with vimbration dampeners coming standard... its a real quite shooter and its got the hoyt techriser design on it so that helps with vibration

oh and did i mention its the same price

The Jag, if it has the dyna cam is a ripper for the price. They have a 15# wind back from their peak weight and an adjstable draw-length, with out the use of a bow press from 26" to 31".

This means if you want to sell your bow at a later date it can fit a far larger range of people than a bow that doesn't have the poundage variance or the draw length scope.

We sell both the reflex and the Jag where I work, I would probably opt for the Jag but then that is JMHO.

Cheers

I agree.
I have the phantom 2 and love it. Smooth and quiet in it's current configuration, and i have the old z cams, so it goes to 32 inches. You might struggle with the dyna or fuzion cams, because they only go to 30. I was going to suggest a phantom until i realised they don't go out to 32 any more.

It's an expensive bow at a cheap price at the $429 they are going for now. Very cheap for a machined riser.

Jags kick like donkeys and almost sound like one
Ive owned two Jags. One Dyna cam and one dual cam and I NEVER noticed this. Although I did notice the kick on my 80lb Saber, but a couple .45 cal. slugs and willy_r at Nimos quickly fixed that. As far as the Jags go I think they are a very nice shooting bow.
