I am getting the dx within the next two weeks, feedback from you on yours would be good.

Shano,
I got a ST-R. She goes pretty well, can easily sit on 100km+ on the road, haven't locked the hubs in and given it workout off road yet. My only complaint is that for a reasonably tall bloke (6'2") there isn't a lot of leg room. Other than that, I'm pretty happy

I don't own this one but everytime I go onto the property the farmer lets me use it.

Usually I can drive to the property gates by two wheel drive and walk it from there or, on the property with the above vehicle, I drive to the farmers house and pick up the four wheeler.

This is a pic of the new tread on my favorite mode of transport which I use everytime I go for a hunt.

Not fast but gets me into all the best hunting areas and very good on fuel :D

Nice Hood,
You'll have to get onto Luke about how to build the water-tank sidesteps.

A body lift, spring lift and big muds underneath and you'll be set.
 I forgot. We live in SA. No need for mud tyres. No rain = no mud!

Already measured it up for a bow or two and there's even enough room for a goat and fox or two
She already has her muddies on, but the pic doesn't show it to well.
Suspension lift and upgrade is already on the books as well as a winch and accesories to go with the winch. :D

Very neat and tidy looking Roza mate... 8)

An official welcome to the family

I'm a bit envious of your bull bar...they's hard to come by for Roza's these days as you can't buy them off the shelf anymore :(

Let me know if you need any info on anything mate I'll be glad to help you out. I've done fair bit of work on mine since I got it.

My next project is a custom snorkel :P and thanks to Rob300F am one step closer to that ;)

Will put up some pics of my latest upgrades soon :)

Looks a great find HOOD! Roof-racks and tie-downs will accomodate your longbow-wielding mates, too. If you do go hunting with Puk you may want to swap those muddies for rubber that can deal with SAND.

Puk
30-08-06, 08:57 AM
 Ant, do you reckon there's room in there for a shovel?
And a winch might be a good idea come to think of it.....

All non-standard options on a commodore wagon.

My sierra (Maruti) ute project is progressing. The old 1l donk and 4 speed box are out, and we are about to put in the 2 inch body lift then paint the old girl. Then the 1.3 and 5 speed box will go back in. I am lining the doors and floor with sound-absorbing layered carpet, i have wired up the CD player, got an electrophone 3200 UHF cheap second-hand from a mate, have a total of 5 driving lights and am sorting out how to install a spare water tank and sliding drawer under the extended tray. (Tray has to be longer to allow for the size of the goats and deer i am going to shoot! )
The 30 inch mud tyres on alloy mags are on their way, as are the 2 inch lifted springs.

In the meantime, the bull-bar and side-bars are getting polished within an inch of their lives.
We are working out how to mount the sports seats that i got off ebay for the princely sum of $100 for the pair including rails. Bargain! Being a Maruti ute there is an extra 6 inches of cab that i intend to utilise fully to fit my legs in. There is a surprising amount of leg-room actually.

Will post pics eventually. I should have done before and after shots.

Are 4 inch blocks and 38's legal in Queensland Zac? I would have thought either one would have been a problem on road.

ROWDY Rodeo - '02 Turbo diesel. Bought it new. Only mods are aftermarket intercooler, 3" exhaust system and a snorkel. Very reliable unit and Cape proven. This pic was just off the development track last year.

haha no puk they are not but nothings legal when you go bigger than what they come out with to start off with. on the road in the wet the tyres can a bit slippery but you just have to slower and the 4inch blocks add a little more movement up top but its ok just dont go farst into corners.

I've done all the work myself bar the body lift and the susp lift. Usually if I'm not doing bowhunting stuff, I'm playing with car stuff.
I have a custom snorkel planned next and that will be hopefully done in the next few weeks so there'll bit a bit more stainless bling to polish ;)

It's certainly no huge rig, but is very capable off road (esp now with the mods) and is cheap to run and to register!

I wouldn't trade it for quids... (a fully kitted out hilux or cruiser perhaps )

Hi Luke or any one else. I am thinking of buying a Feroza. Are they a good car for wear and tear, spare parts ect? Or are Vitaras a better car to get? Thanks mate!
