Hey guys.

Got a visit from the UPS man tonight and he had my Black-Widow. Its a PSA III, 60# @ 28" and its brand new!!! :D . I also got my bow quiver and antler limb bolts plus heaps of other stuff. I'll have to get some pic's up tomorrow 8) .

The only thing I have to do now is to get some arrows and tune it. The arrows are going to be a pain in the backside because they have to 9-11 grain per pound of draw weight and I have a real problem trying to match arrows to bows  . I draw about 60# and use 28" arrows and they need to be about 600 grains total, anyone got any tips lol  .

This thread remains useless without pics

29" ST axis with brass inserts and 125 g head gets my shafts to 580 grains. I imagine a piece of tubing to bring the weight up inside the shaft would do the trick.

Hi guys,

I was jumping off the walls when I saw the guys grabbing the boxes out off his van lol. I ordered the bow about 2 months ago and I ordered some other stuff like a week ago, and It all arrived at the same time!! I was worried about what grip style to get so I got the standard grip, but It fits my hand perfectly (No other bow fits my hand this well). I just have to grab some arrows now and then I'm all set. I got some more suggestions on arrows from Tradgang.com aswell.

The other stuff I got was:

*2 spare strings W/ spider silencers
*the antler bolts
*bow quiver
*2 DVDs plus I got another for free
*a camo cap and gray hooded jumper
and some other stuff.

I've got 3 days off, so gotta get those arrows made up and hit the range.

Thanks for the kind words fellas,
James (Cav01).

You just can't beat a good timber arrow for a nice bow like that. The natural beauty and warm glow of a timber arrow will complement the bow. To achieve total traditional archery zen, you just have to shoot wooden arrows. 8)

I recommend a nicely stained, fletched, crest dipped and crested set of Silverwood shafts. These shafts are the ultimate timber shaft material IMO. They are made of silver quandong and they are both matched for spine and weight. They look far better than any synthetic arrow could ever hope for when nicely finished. In the shooting department, they sure aren't a slouch either, mine shoot as well as to almost as well as my carbons.

If you're looking for a nice set of heavy arrows, these shafts come weighing around 400 - 430 grains bare and by the time you add a nice reasonably heavy, quality broadhead, you're automatically up to around your 600 grain total weight.

Ask the dealer which ones would be suitable for your draw length and draw weight, but I'd imagine something like the 520's would come very close to being ideal. And to think, you get all this for a lously $32 for a dozen shafts.

Nice bow too, BTW. 8) :D

Whoa! They really are a work of art... I empathise with your excitement on seeing the magic van pull up out front, too! Have plenty big fun with your new toy. Let us know how she shoots for you.
