Picked up the latest Wild Deer magazine this morning and had a flick through. Got to page 16 and couldn't believe there is a pic of a small Sambar stag with an arrow sticking out of it.
I thought this look was frowned upon in the hunting community but maybe it has been overlooked as it is mainly a gun based magazine.

I just picked it up myself and saw the picture, not a good look
dosn't really show a lot of respect to the animal in my opinion.
A great magazine though, maybe just a bit more time taken with photo selection 8)

It would seem Rob had a bit of a brain fart there, that sort of thing doesn't normaly show up in his mag.

I will send a note of to him, and others should too, to tell him how I feel about it. I really look forward to my mag ariving each season and I don't want it to turn into just another shooting magazine

Yeah Agreed, although the Archer in question doesn't show a great deal of respect for the deer in the other photo's either

I'm not trying to put anyone down here but i also noticed this on the main page of the Arafura Lodge website. There is red fletchings sticking out of the buffalo.

When i first started bowhunting i also thought that it was unnecessary to take out the arrow in pictures and big deal if it was in or out, you are still killing the animal anyway. As i got to know more and more about the sport i learnt that it is disrespectful to leave an arrow in or take pictures that are not needed such as excessive gore etc. After all, you are taking an animal's life.

Thats not the worst thing ive seen in that magazine .People in that that magazine bail up deer with the use of dogs then walk up to them and shoot them point blank.Hey each and to their own,not my cup of tea.

If you want to rev up opposition to hound hunting it would be a good idea to know a bit more about the subject than what you think you have seen in a magazine.
I assume then you have been out with a hound crew and have good knowledge of what they get up to? Or are you just assuming they "walk up to them and shoot them point blank" because it sounds more contemptable?

To answer your question jindy ,No I havent been out out with a hound crew.As I said and qoute"each and to their own".So as you can see I'm not "reving up opposition" as you put it I'm just voiceing my opinion/ observation on a magazine that just happens to be the topic of this post .But I must have gotten it all wrong then because my picture of the sport was just what I said. But I am interested to find out more of "what they get up to".Feel free to pm any time and show me more...Thanks ..Frank :D
