Stealing an idea from archery talk here. Just think it would be a good idea to have a product review section where members can add their own personal reviews on products they are actually using. This way when others are looking at getting something new they can view the list and get an idea on what to expect or how it should perform.

sounds good
Sounds good to me. At least then product comparisons will be in the one spot instead of all through the forum.
I second the motion

I'll definitely second the proposal Ant! Great review Rohan- everything we need to know; the pros, cons and PRICE.
Perhaps the reviews could be grouped i.e. bows, arrows, sights, excuses to wives, girlfriends, parents for spending too much money on favourably reviewed gear...
Also, a section on who wants to see what reviewed might steer reviewers in the right direction. (the real could do a little article on Sword AcuSights for example... :D )

Why, does he know something about them? ;)

A great idea Ant
Rohan
If you want to make the zips quiet you get a pair of side cutters and chop the pull tags off. Just thread 3 inches of the same cord you use for your release loop through it in a loop and you are good to go.
When I was in the army we used to just wrap black leccy tape around the tabs...I like your idea too Mick. :P
We're just confirming where exactly the product review forum will go...

Luke, I know Jindy touched on it but could you set it up so that we have say a back pack category, bow, arrow, site, rest, optics, footwear, release, knives etc.... so you can go into the particular item you are after and look through variuos reviews on them.
I know of a few things I will put on there, like a back pack, but maybe the back pack reviews, for example, should be grouped rather than a list of various individual items scattered haphazardly throughout the section.
Cheers, Antonio.
It is a good idea mate, but one that is not practical for this site. To do that it would mean a different forum for EACH of these categories you suggest. As it stands we have a large number of different forums and have just added an additional one for the product review section. It is not possible to have "sub forums" but only threads within the forum (that is within the category of "resource section".
If you want to, feel free to go into the new review section and create a new thread for each of the categories you think would be best to go in there and then people can post their reviews in the thread.
The other option is for people to use the search feature more and choose only to search the "product review" forum therebye narrowing their search parameters and only coming up with matches from the review forum.
I hope that all makes a bit of sense....

That is a great idea. We could have a user review section and in that section have different categories like “pack rats” for backpacks and “Blades” for knives (or something similar).
Does this sound alright?
Why is it not possible to have sub forums Luke?

I will go in there and create some threads where i think people could post thier reviews. That way each thread will get longer as people add stuff and none of it will be lost. I hope this is ok.
It is not possible to have sub forum Mick basically because the forum software does not afford that option.
The hierarchy of the forum structure is:
Category
Forum
Threads
Posts
So, what we've done is created a new forum for product reviews, and simply cannot create a forum under a forum. Only threads and then posts.
