I just roughed out the blank for the myna disposing slingshot ive been planning to make for a while.

Ok here is the latest pics of it.
It took me ages to figure out how I was gonna attach the rubber bands and finally came up with this.
It will definitely need an arm brace with these bands or ill have to take some off maybe only have 3 each side instead of 4

Slingshots are not illegal, but put an armbrace on it and it becomes a prohibited weapon (worth $5000 or a year in jail).

It doesnt have one so its ok.
The screw wont come out its 60mm long and you can see about 15mm of it.If a band breaks I can easily replace them.

I'd love to get a sling shot but i live in NSW wales and everyone all over the place tells me different things about the rule for them so could someone finalise and confirm all the rules for them in NSW :?: 8)

Here are some more pictures of the slingshot.
I still need to fit a pushbike handlebar grip and give it a coat of laquer.
Corey I have had about 30 shots of it now and its as accurate as the guy firing it just like any other slingshot with no breakages so....

What I will say about it though is that it is a bit wide but it can be drawn back to about a metre with just the 2 bands on each side.
With any more rubber bands ...and i have lots of them...you would need to have very strong wrists to hold it .

The sling shot is just an experiment for me and has been a little project.
I dont intend to use it very often. Maybe when this big ginger cat across the road comes and does its spray on our balcony I could give it a bit of a scare but mainly I will use it against indian minors .
I have designed it to fire a small pouch full of bearings or nuts kind of like a shot gun round and i think this will be effective against the minors.

From the NSW Weapons prohibition Act
In Schedule 1, Prohibited weapons
A slingshot (being a device consisting of an elasticised band secured to the forks of a “Y” shaped frame), other than a home-made slingshot for use by a child in the course of play.


So quite plainly if you have a slingshot you bought in a shop Bobzilla you could be in serious trouble. And yes, jail is a possibility (although extremely unlikely). The maximum penalty for possession or use of a slingshot is $10,000 or 2 years jail. You would also be prohibited from owning any firearms for 10 years.

Obviously Jeffro is a child and he is just playing :wink:
