ive got gold tip expedition hunters and bpe fletchig jig. am really happy with both and the arrows are the best ive ever shot. i used to shoot xx75 gamegetter 1816 and these arrows far surpass them. the jig is awesome and its really adjustable does just what i want it to.

Just thought I mention how good I have found the Easton ST Axis shafts.

They are a great arrow shaft. Straight, tough as, even throughout, and are a very slim shaft. Using the 'hidden insert' included in the price of the shafts per dozen (includes shafts, nocks, inserts, epoxy glue, chamfering tool, and insert tool) fits very neatly, and tightly, inside the slim Axis shaft. This gives a well aligned point or broadhead:)

I have found though, that as the end of the carbon shaft IS the end of the shaft which butts up against the point/broadhead, a clean and perfectly straight cut off is paramount to the arrow spinning up true. Get this wrong and your stuffed.

The Axis have a very smooth finish to them, a well known feature of strong carbon arrow shafts. They have a thich wall and are as tough an arrow as I have shot.

The advertised added penetration from these very slim shafts I am not really able to say to much about, as I have not had an arrow of late (of any carbon shaft) not pass right through the game I have hunted (mainly goats and small game) The Axis definately do sink deeper into 'proper' target butts and 3D animals though.....

I use them in combination with 3 x 2" blazer vanes and shoting in cross winds is again noticably better (less arrow drift) than other shafts I have tryed.

Anyhow, they are a great shaft. They are in the mid-high price range for hunting carbon shafts, but they are WELL worth it IMO;)

Good hunting!

im using the eastern st excels in 340 spine
i find them awsome out of my 63lbs hoyt powertech they are 9.4 grains per inch and are very small diameter shaft for better penetration and at 65 bucks a dozen with nocks and inserts i would say they are a bloody bargain
im using them with 3 2inch blazers and 125gr woody hunters
and they are deadly have got passthroughs on all game taken with them
and im using a bpe fletching jig witch i am also very happy with

I use Lightspeed 500's for target "Exellent short range target arrows". For hunting I use Easton Superslams - Great arrow. You can really count on easton to only make good gear.

"I have found though, that as the end of the carbon shaft IS the end of the shaft which butts up against the point/broadhead, a clean and perfectly straight cut off is paramount to the arrow spinning up true. Get this wrong and your stuffed."

Does this mean that you have to add on the nocks, fletchings and inserts yourself? Cause i'm new to this and still learning all i can.

I use CT whitetales, they are awsome, really fast and tough as nails, although were a bit pricy not sure how much compared to others but they are great, they are my final choice in arrow.

My latest bunch of arrows are Easton Epics at 25.5'' being shot out of a 60# hoyt vectrix.

The epics seem to be very tough, i haven't brocken one yet. they group great with broadheads, i use two blade broadys and can put 6 arrows in a 15cm group from 20meters. they are a bit slimmer in diameter compared to other normal sized carbons and you have to buy special inserts and nocks which can be a pain in the butt but IMO its completely worth it. and i also found that my 2'' blazers dont stick to the shaft using fletch-tite so you have to put wraps on them which isn't too bad considering it makes then look great and they are alot easier to find with a bright orange, yellow, red wrap ect...

thats what i think about the Easton Epics.

thanks dan.

full metal jackets: I got these off bh4e and was rather impressed with them, i thaught they could have been a bit better (some how:P) seeing as they are very expensive shafts, only thing was they arnt as strong at the front due to the h.i.t, i probably wont buy these again as i could get something that shoots just as well for half the price, i think these are for the bowhunters that spend bigger or for people who just want the good brand names ;)

Beman venture: great arrows, good price, and shoot well. i shot my second deer with this arrow and it flew like a homing missile, though i did not find the deer due to my own mistake, i would deffinatly buy these again.

gold tip terminator: up there with the venture on my list but better price wise, good hardy arrows, fly true, would recomend these for someone who doesnt want to spend big but wants a quality arrow that will last and do its job.

gold tip xt hunter: good strong arrows, they fly well, but i found them to be pretty much the same as the terminator shaft, would buy these if i had the extra dollar when i went to the archery shop but apart from that id go the terminator,

hope this info might help out some time
regards jono

For hunting i like Gold tip exp hunter 75/95's with 2"blazers over wraps..for target i use both Easton ACE alu carbon extreme 1206G/400 and Cartel Doosung triple alu carbon 400...both excellent..but very expensive.

i have to disagree. i have never broke an fmj only put some dints in them from rocks. they are much stronger than normal carbons in my opinion. also how does the h.i.t make them less strong at the front
