As I am on the lookout for my first trad bow I was wondering what draw length I should be looking for. My compound has a 30 inch draw length but all the trad bows that i look to buy seem to always have 50# at 28 inch or 60# at 28etc...
Is it that trad bows are measured for their poundage at 28 inches and then if you pull it back further you get more. I'd like to know as I really want nothing more than 55# of weight. Thanks.

Yer mate unless made otherwise to order most bows are measured at 28" and yes if you draw longer you may gain as much as 3-5 pound per inch depending on how much the bow stacks at the end of the draw.A 30 inch compound draw length would normaly come back an inch or so with a trad bow though so it prob wont be that big a problem.I would order a 55 and be done with it as the variance in bow scales around the place can easy be 3 pound anyway so go with the 55 and just enjoy shooting it.
