View Full Version : Boa Bow quivers - are they any good?
Hey all,
Looking into getting a new bow quiver for a little recurve i aquired recently. I have a selway quiver and rekon its great, but this other recurve's limbs are too wide for it to slip on so have to go with another option (it also hasnt got any mounting bolts in the riser). Perusing the 3 rivers site i came accross this Boa bow quiver which looks OK, just wondering if anyone has used/seen this quiver and if its any good?

Haven't used the Boa, but the Eagle's Flight quiver is cheap, light and dependable in the bush. Highly recommended. http://www.3riversarchery.com/Thumb.asp?c=14&s=21&p=148

I've owned and used a Thunderhorn "Boa" quiver for several years. Mine is the leather version, you can buy them in a plain rubber/plastic version too. It works great.
They're a well made quiver. There's no vibrations when shooting. They don't come loose all the time. It accepts all my arrows, from thin carbons right up the thick barrel tapered woods. They're a nice looking quiver too, in my opinion, with the two tone leather finish.
It just so happens, I also own one of the Eagle's flight bowquivers too (it's one of the early ones, with the hand sewn hood). You might be interested to know that I actually prefer to use this quiver, not because it's any better made, but simply because it works perfectly, and most importantly (for me at least) it's extremely lightweight and doesn't effect the balance of your bow. The Thunderhorn "Boa" is a great 6 arrow bowquiver but it is on the heavy side when fully loaded up, it's no heavier than a Selway bowquiver though (I've owned one of them too).
Another excellent bowquiver is the Great Northern. It holds 5 arrows and is a bit lighter than both the Thunderhorn Boa and the Selway slip-on. If you think you can comfortably exist with just 4 arrows in your quiver, then by all means buy yourself an Eagle's Flight quiver, it's the only one I use these days. 8)
