this is the how to post pics :D

1. sign up for an account on www.photobucket.com. photobucket will "host" the pictures for you
2. activate your account by following the link sent to you via email
3. sign into photobucket.com with the username and password you have selected
4. now you should be on "my album page" with an "add picture" box. Click the "browse" button and locate the picture you wish to port on your computer. (makes it easy if you have a photos folder on your desktop). double click on the photo you wish to add.
5. click the submit button on the photobucket site. Now your photo has been uploaded!
6. You will notice on your photobucket screen that the photo is towards the bottom and under it a box saying "url" with text looking somewhat like this http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v600/simsshmick/dcp-1804.jpg You need to copy this text (highlight the text and press ctrl and c at the same time) now your ready to post in our forum
7. open your new post or reply box (im sure you know how to do this) write your post as normal and at the spot you want to insert the picture click on the button that says "img" (its just above the bow where your typing)
8. now it's time to inset that line of text we copied. Press ctrl and v at the same time. (no spaces between the bow and the next line of text needed) now you need to click on the img button again, it should now have a * at the end.
9. to test your photo will appear properly click on the preview button at the bottom of the page and your finished :D [/url]

Junior,

Copy the URL line of your pic in Photobuctket (not the IMG line)

Then on TBGA, First hit IMG on bar, then paste the copy of your URL, then hit URL on the bar

Not to throw a spanner into the works, but you can just copy the IMG line and paste it in the post too this works just as good and you donĂ*t have to use the tags in the TBA tags menu.

eg. http://img.photobucket.com/your picture here

See ya Pete.

GDay lads, Im a bit new to the computer thingy and findin it a bit hard to get my older pics onto photo bucket. The camera I have is 9MP and the photos seem to be around 2.2meg. I have figured out how to drop the res on the camera for future but cant seem to figurew how to shrink the old pics to fit on photobucket (max 1meg)????

Cheers
Jay

Mate,

It seems as though you need to try reducing the size of your images before you upload or wait longer for them to upload. From what you're saying, it seems only part of the data is making it to the web and so only a portion of the image is viewable :?

If you upload a smaller version, less data has to transfer and so it takes less time and is less likely to time out or be interupted. It also means it's easier for people to view on their browser because the download time is quicker too :P

I hope that helps and makes a bit of sense

If it is taking 15 minutes to upload 1 pic then they are way too big. Resize them on your computer first to say 650 x 4??. If you scale your pic to a width of 650 it will automatically figure out the 4??. If you tell it to be 650 x 450 it may look wrong as it stretches/ shrinks to fit to 450. ie you may look tall and skinny or short and fat in the pic.

Hope this helps.

Heya's, just another suggestion (if it hasn't already been posted).

http://www.imageshack.us is also a free picture host site. I prefer to use this because I can insert a thumbnail into the forum instead of a large picture. The thread gets loaded faster, as well as not having to wait for a picture to load to only see it't not the one I was looking for.

When the picture is done uploading, you are given a selection of links to use. Use Thumbnails for forums 1. This will insert a small thumbnail into the forum, and if you click on it, it will load the full image in another browser (i think in another anyway).

Anyway, that's my tip. To save us all bandwidth and easier/faster surfing.

Control + C = copy

Control + V = paste

Or use your right click button on the mouse.

It doesn't matter, just go to the thread (here) where you want to paste the code and press CONTROL + V. ;)
