G'day fella's hows everyone doin?
Last weekend Walcha became the host of about 150 cubs, scouts and several parents from all over the New England area. Over the weekend these young'ns were put through some activities. Man did it rain! None the less, Bowbenders of the Great Divide archey club put on the Archery section with coaching and advise on archery (under cover.) We put up 6 woolbales stuffed with plastic, pinned a heap of balloons to them and helped these young archers bust a balloon, We had an absolute ball! These young kids were fantastic. They listened and had an absolute blast. We even got the team leaders up for a shot. The bows they used were a simple little fibreglass recurve that are owned by the scouts. After each group had finished their shoot, Jo and I gave a demo with our gear. The look on their faces when we hit the already busted ballon that they nominated was priceless, totally awestruck! Jo also managed a perfect Robin Hood which really opened their eye's. At the end, not only did we have a great time, we were voted the best base by the Kids and their parents for acheivment, safety and down right good fun. Cheers to all them scouts and cubs! Scott & Jo
