Whats your PB ABA score ?

hey guys im not sure if some1 has already made a post/topic like this b4 :? so thats why i am asking what your ABA PB's for the single arrow round are :?:

myself and trophy hunter went to Dubbo today to the ABA club there.
He won :cry: but not by much :wink:

trophy hunter scored 374 and i scored 370

It was my second time to the ABA club and i scored my PB of 370 :D

My PB on the one arrow round is 376 and today as josh said i got 374 and beat him ha ha ha and he has a bowtech tribute :shock: ah ha ha ha and i have an alpine micro ha ha oh ha. it was a great round. :D :D

What peg were you guys shooting from?

im not sure what u call it...its the junior peg...at the Dubbo club there are 3 pegs
red = adults 16+
green= juniors 13-15
and yellow= cubs under 12year

I can't even remember what my PB is, I havn't shot a ABA round in the last 11 months

Best I have ever done off the red peg barebow at an ABA shoot was a 376 3 arrow round and then followed it after lunch with a 382 0ne arrow round.That was quite a few years ago though.

Was using a Jennings Carbon Extreme set at 63# and using 2115 X7 arrows.Just one of those days that everything went great.

I can name two other Queensland barebow shooters that could and did better than that score I shot.

Rhys Aizlewood and Keith Mundey.

Last year I shot with a guy from WA that was using a recurve barebow and he shot a 372 one arrow round with that.I never even cracked 360 that day.

It is all about practice and more practice.

yea a guy from dubbo scored 398 when he was 14 with a barebow...now he has a mathews compound fully equipt worth over $1500 usually scores 390+. Shoulda seen my face when i first herd about it :shock:

398 and 396 from the adult peg, I was shooting a Hoyt Protec 56lbs 29 inch draw. It was on my then club range during a club shoot.

oh the guy that was getting the 390+ scores was Jason but there are a few others up there that get 390+

pretty sure jason, charlie and mark have all score above 390
kevin and his sons paul and tim may have also scored 390+

hopefully my name will be there with them to very soon ....
myself and trophyhunter both scored 370 + and we both had 1 miss each so if we had scored 20's we would both be in the 390's

I reckon from now on, anyone else who posts a score, make sure you say what bow it was and if it was sighted, bare, long, curve or self :P

Me? 384 Barebow compound 1 arrow round. 5 yrs ago now...

Cannot remember my best overall score but I remember I placed 1st in B grade with a score that would have gotten me 3rd in Grand masters ;) Again, barebow.

yeah i go to the dubbo club im the one you were talking to after the shoot was finish and we were at the practise range

last time i was there (when i met you "hit and giggle") i scoresd 368 and missed one

I shoot with a guy who regularly shoots 400 barbebow one arrow without even trying, so I dont even bother scoring, he makes my bowhunter unlimited scores of 380-390 seem pathetic :lol:

This is an old thread but i might aswell get it started again.
My new PB is 388... ive shot that exact score 3 times... still havnt broken the 390 mark :(

Haven't shot ABA for about a decade, think around the mid 370's would be the best I ever got. Sighted compound. Roger Frei, Manly Field Archers shot a perfect round in those days I think, he was a freak with any type of bow. Howie

Bad luck on not geting through the 390s i dont no why u cant cos your a pretty good shot my pb is 396 at dubbo andi shot 394 at lithgow wich was my first away shoot ....

Ive got a 350+ aba badge awarded to me from about 20 years ago.I dont remember the actual score but that was with an all wood browning nomad deluxe compound bow,no sights no release aid

398 Bowhunter unlimited, PSE Stingray, 70#, unsure what arrow but was prob a Easton Fatboy, last target group1 cat, DOH!

best with hunting setup, 394 also bowhunter unlimited Hoyt powertec, 92#, Easton Evolution(think that was the name)

not shot a proper round barebow, or with recurve or longbow.

just a quick QandA... so, how did u score the targets when u got pass throughs??? i didnt even think you could get limbs with that sort of deflexion!!!

The bow was in a shop with cracked limbs when the new ones arrived that was the poundage they went to so I bought it.

With older bows it was possible to buy limbs for heavy poundage and a short draw they would give even higher poundage at longer draw.
I did this with a PSE Carrera by getting 27" 70# limbs and using 30" cam and strings it went to 90#.
I tried this with a Hoyt Havoc and it didn't work.

In the recent past PSE offered the Gorrilla at 100#, think also Mathews had a bow not in the cat but available called the Safari that was meant to be up there in poundage.

Shotting at Lilydale into wetsuit rubber filled bags it was ok, the club i shot that round at had recently repacked their plastic filled bags.
Even shooting 70# on used plastic filled bags often the arrow go to the nock.

I no longer own a 90# bow.
