Hi all,
Just got in the mail the other day a new 45# Samick Equus recurve for my wife to shoot with. A cracker of a bow for the $$$ but I'm wondering if I could put a DynaFlight 97 string on it or would I have to run with the Dacron?
Anyone on here put FF Strings on ther Samicks?
Regards, al
Al I've never owned an Equus, but I did own a Samick Deer slayer and I put a Dynaflight 97 flemmish string on it. IMO it performed better with less noise and no damage.
A mate owns a Samick deerslayer at the moment and he has a 12 strand flemmish string with padded loops made from 8125 and it performs much better than the B50 dacron endless loop that it came with and is a lot quieter.
In my opinion a string made from modern string material with padded loops(so it won't damage the nocks), is better than dacron for any bow because it stretches less and therefore causes less vibration in the limbs. I'd be putting on a 10 strand string made from dynaflight 97 or formula 8125 with padded loops and I believe it would be better for the bow than a B50 dacron string.
But that's just my opinion. :D

Thanks mate, along the lines of what I was thinking too. Got a stack of DF 97 for my widows so I'll run up a Flemish twist for her bow soon enough.
Thanks again.

Don't know about the Equs, but my Talon has reinforced limb tips so they can handle just about any string material.
Thought the Samick limb design was the same on all the recurves.
