I'd like to start planning now for a January New Year Bowhunting Video Bash!

I'm proposing a date between the 5th and the 13th of Jan (I'm a free agent for that period! ;)).

Probably Friday night the 5th or Saturday night the 6th.

The last one was a hoot...with great entertainment late into the night, yarns told, beers drunk and awesome footage watched.

Who's in?

I'm in - Depending upon babies arrival timing of course :-)

Sweet, it'll be a cosy gathering so far then :P

I had a chat with the owner of where I play squash and for a very small fee we can host it there.

They have a great bar room
- a wide assortment of beers and other drinks (cheap!)
- a pool table
- massive plasma for our videos
- BBQ if we wanna do some steaks (venison anyone?)
- and if you're adventurous you could even try kickin' my butt on the squash court!

I have beds available at my place and more than plenty of room to chuck a swag down too.

Amy will be away at the time ;) When the cat's away

If we're keen to have it at the squash club we can meet here, pile into a few cars and head down (about 10mins drive from my house) and then we can drive back when done.

Wadda ya's reckon?

Any one else?

I need to know numbers so we can decide where to have it - my place or my squash club's bar room.

So far I have Paul, Friar, Gnome and Dances with Dingoes.

So with those numbers we'll have it at my place.

I know there are more of you out there who are close by... I can find where you live  ...we have ways of making you attend (said in thick russian accent) ;)

DWD may not be in attendance - Furniture removal truck arrives on the 4th so he will still be unpacking.

I will be bringing Rossco though

BTW Friar Tuck - of Gecko Archery, has said he'll bring along some gear (Vortex bino's and some Montec stuff) for us to have a look at.

There will be some good deals if you want to purchase anything ;)

Well how did the night go?
Ken :D

Luke
07-01-07, 12:26 PM
Well :P

We had Zac (Bowtech Hunter), Rossco, Owen, Paul R, Shano, Kel and Friar Tuck rock up during the night.

We had quite a few hours of babbling bowhunting bulldust sitting around my outdoors area. We came inside and perused some of the Vortex Optics Anotony brought round for us to have a gander at (mmmmmmm ;)).

Then a few DVD's were watched til around midnight.

It was great to catch up with old mates and put new faces to names!

The boys headed off around midnight with Paul staying back til about 4am  to yarn about numerous topical issues and iron out details for our upcoming hunt.

All up it was a great night with many a tale told and at the end I think we all walked away keener for our next trip bush.

:P

I'm thinking these vid nights are going to become a bit of a tradition.

Good to here that yours went as well as ours did here in SA.

Hey Luke,

Just wondering when the next vid's night is going to be held ? Would also love the chance to be able to put a ace to the names of the guy's/gals i have been getting to know over the last few years on here. Hope it can be for when i am at home on days off.

That would work in just about on the money, i leave next Sunday for work & will be home in around 5 weeks. I will be at Ballendean Station for the hunter Ed course from the 5th to the 7th May. Hunting before that for a week, after that i will 100% do the trip down the hill.
