General concensus is that it won't make any difference to the way the broadheads plane.
In the past it was generally thought that it was best to have the broadhead on horizontal so it doesn't break your line of sight on the animal. Try both and see which way prefer...Glenn...
If the arrows are tuned to the bow it will make no diference at all on flight.
Glen makes a good point RE. sight picture.
I use screw in heads and they are where they land when tight.

I always mount mine in the horizontal position for two reasons. I like the sight picture when shooting as it's quite similar to shooting field points. I tend to focus on the top of the blade and use it as a sight when I mount my broadheads vertically and I find this much less accurate than shooting 100% instinctively.
My other reason is, the arrow is subject to the most unsettling forces immediately after release. The arrow must flex considerably, this is what they are designed to do, it's called archer's paradox. Most of the flexing that takes place is in the horizontal plane. To me, it makes sense to have your broadhead mounted horizontally as it would be less effected and less likely to windplane if it's mounted in the same plane. This may or may not work out to be true in practice, but if there's no reason to worry about the orientation of your broadhead, as many archers believe, then what is there to lose?
I will conceed that if your arrows are spined correctly and if your broadheads are aligned correctly, it doesn't matter one bit which way you have your broadheads aligned. It comes down to personal preferences.

I mount my broadheads at 45degrees to my sight picture ,thats between vertical and horizontal beccause years ago someone told me I couldnt do it , like everyone said it is personal preferance. regards Perry
