Hey
of recently I have heard alot of people say martin bows are no good the string comes of or, the limbs explode etc but i always thought they looked like a good bow for the right price. Can any one shed some light on what the people are saying.

thanks michael

My first bow was a Martin Phantom, I bought it in 2001 it lasted 3 months and then snapped through the riser and I dont mean cracked, snapped clean through!!!!!! First and last Martin I bought.

I have a Martin Phantom that is about 4 years old. I am very happy with it, it stays in tune, shoots smooth and quiet, has never had any problems with the string, and has taken me some good game so far.

I'm happy. :D

I have owned a 4 Martins over the last decade and the only problem that I have had has been with my current Cougar 3. One of the cams decide to shear off (tru-arc cam), I picked it before it fell apart. Rang the company that I brought it from hey presto new cams new cable and strings no questions asked. Thing still shoots like a dream. There would be 8-10 Martin bows at the club that I shoot at and I am not aware of anyone else having a problem.

Cheers Tim

I had a Martin Jaguar as a backup bow for about six months (til my son decided he wanted it)

Good bow.

I have got a Martin Jaguar. I've had it for over 3 years now. I have a replacement set of strings and cables but as yet have never had to replace them. Still in A1 condition. I've never had any sort of problem with it.

How about a little more detail, like what happened to the limbs?
Ive owned 3 Martins and couldnt fault any of them. Son and wife both
shoot Martins and neither has had any trouble with them.

Like any thing in life that is man made there are bound to be a few with faults. most of if not all bow manufacturers have had a bad rape at one point or another for faulty equipment.

Having never owned a Martin I base htis on what I have seen and heard, but I think Martin are great bow fo the money. JMO

I've shot a Nitrous Jag for the last couple of years, used it for both targets and hunting until mid last year when it was retired to hunting only.
Would have shot thousands of arrows over that time most at 65lbs(only rated to 60lbs), always shot well until recently when the top limb split, still shot it without any worries until I return from a trip away.
Martin replaced the limbs no worries (took a couple of weeks though) and now shots as well as ever.
Great bow for the money with great backup service.

hairline crack on the inside bend of the top limb in the V and/or hairline crack on surface facing the limb cup extending from limb bolt.

to Martins credit though, all were replaced within the week, no questions asked.

They are an established bow company, in both compound and trad bows.

I have a good mate who had 2 Martin compounds totally snap just above the handle, um....... no thanks  :?
