Ok I'm in.... BUT it would have to be before the 8th Jan. As I leave on the 9th for 3 weeks in New Zealand.

I'd be happy to have it here at my place. Pending if I can get a baby sitter for Bella as Jo is working late shifts nursing.
Will check with the wife on our booked engagments in the first week of Jan and let you know.
Does anyone have a particular night they woulkd prefer. eg. midweek friday night, Saturday night.....

Hood i wander if we could use the club room(southern fields archery club)

Spikey I don't think so as it would be after hours and there would be non-members there. BUT ona a better note I'd be able to borrow the Clubs DVD's
Um.. I only have a DVD player so if anyone has VHS tapes let me know and I'll borrow the mother in-laws player.

Also I was thinking of the 5th of January as the night it's a Friday so no work the next day if your not already on holidays then.

Puk
22-12-06, 11:23 AM
Pencil me in for now mate,
I have to work the next day.... I have a wedding to do, but it might be late enough in the day to drive home beforehand.

Pizza, beer and hunting vids?

I have a target set up at home as well, so we can a have a little shoot.
Puk your more then welcome to stay the night in the spare room....or Bella's cubby house with the dogs
Pizza and beer is fine with me.
What DVD's/videos do you guys have so that I don't borrow the same ones from the club.

Puk
22-12-06, 12:20 PM

I have Boars and Barra II. But will have to borrow the mother inlaws DVD player as for some reason the sound is lost when played through my DVD player but other DVD's are fine?? go figure. :?
Spikey most of the movies at the club are VHS they have recently got a few more DVD's as well. Umm and they are only ment to beout on loan for one week

On a down note you boys will have to put up with my daughter until she goes to bed. As the wife is working a late shift as to is the mother in-law so I have no baby sitter at the moment.

Now what time are you guys turning up at my place?
It doesn't bother me when you turn up just want to ave things organised thats all.
Who drinks beer and who drinks red wine??
I have a couple of bottles of red we can drink (thats if they last till then :P ) might be a couple of my mates here as well (they don't bow hunt but will be in for the vids and drinks)

Cheers

I had a thought. Scary I know.

Pending on what you guys are wanting to do about what time you come here. If you are getting here early enough in the afternoon we could all go and raid the archery shops as they are only 10 to 15 min. from my place. Or we could even meet there before comin gto my place.
I thought this would benefit people like Puk that live a long way from the city and could make the most of their trip to town and stock up on some of the necessities.

Puk
23-12-06, 06:43 PM
It is 2.5 hours down mate so i will leave mid arvo and be there before peak hour.
There isn't that much i need at the moment from archery shops (unless they can sell you more places to hunt????)

You might just need to PM me your address before i head down.

I will bring a few ales along and a bottle of red (or 2).

Puk

I might need to take you up on the offer of a bed for the night. I can throw in the swag if it will help.

HOOD

Well guys looks like we are gonna have a bit of a turn out.
I'm going to have to move the TV into the bigger lounge room to fit us all in :D
And on another note Jo has changed her shifts at work and will be taking Bella and staying at her mums house friday night. :P
So it's time to have some fun.
I will have some beer here and a bottle of red, and will be getting some nibbles for the night.
We'll order pizza, I know a great little pizza shop that does an awsome pizza unlike those cheaper crappy ones from other places.
Bring ya bows.
Joel and Wayne you will have to bring your own Teddy Bear to sleep with as Bella will be taking her's.
Ed will be bringing his King Kong long bow to see who has the balls the draw it back
Will be a great night I's think.

I'm hoping in front of Hood's telly watching some great bowhunting vids, drinking his Coopers and eating home-cooked venison! Just a holiday, don't worry- I won't be lurking... unfortunately. Trip details and results to be forthcoming. If not a vids night, a S.A. pub-gathering with a comp for who can tell the tallest story!

Luke

I also appologise to all If late in the night I became a babbling in-coherant idiot slurring his words   But I hereby lay blame on Wayne for bring such fine red wine (one of my weeknesses)

Ed I'll be sending you my Chiro bill. Man my left shoulder is screwed today after TRYING to draw his 110# long bow. :x

Puk took some pics and will post them later.

The fox calling vids sent my two dogs intoa frenzy in front of the TV. Funny as.

Puk you left your ice bricks in the freezer. Was that a deliberate attempt to have to meet up again for a drink. Sorry but you won't be getting them back......... well atleast not until I return from NZ that is

Any chance this will be postponed until March? Or a Second Innings?

I'm sure a second innings can be arranged seeing as all had a good time.

We took two first timers(bowfishers) with us today and two using rod and reel. End total bow - 11 fish , rod and reel - 1 fish, and 2 rod and reel fishermen wanting bowfishing rigs. Spikey got top catch with 5 fish.
Cheers Shalee ( swinging balls ) and Spikey187 ( balls )

Mmmm so Wayne how'd you find out that Shane's into "Swinging" and that Chris has spikey "Balls"

Shane I was a bit worried with it being so over cast that the fish would have sunk real low in the water and been hard to find.
Sounds like a good run.
When you get to 30 plus carp each in one day let me know.

Puk

Made my wedding on time boys.
Only wedding i have ever done where half-way through my message i have had to stop so that half the guests could get up and hold down the marquee to stop a Pinnaroo Summer storm turning it into a big kite. Everyone at the wedding got soaked, i gave up on the sermon and got through the "Do you... Yes, Do you....Yes" in record time.

The most entertaining wedding i have ever done, and i think that Ed's photo of me should become compulsory bowhunting night-time uniform.

Thanks again HOOD.

For the night we watched FERAL GAME, SHIKARI, A QUIVER FULL OF HOPE and MASTERS OF THE BAREBOW (at least before i knocked off at 1am. The others stayed up for another hour)

Pics up tomorrow afternoon.

was a great night - thanks Hood. I got there late as I have a class until 9pm. Hood was half gone by then on Waynes cleanskins.
Kudos to shane who drew the "Kong" bow to what appeared a good 28 inches and so he now can be transported back to Crecy and be handed a 92# bow to rain arrows down on the French hehe. Hood also tried but hey what do you expect from a pencil pusher? He did try to bribe me with a few peices of dear horn for my other bow though, nice try but ya gotta do betta.
Puk's boxers....

Hood the horn peices are much appreciated and merely drawing attention to your generosity :) Pics sometimes take a while to load from my computer - will be getting a faster connection to speed things up soon.

I have some bamboo, and/or could help you select some. I have learnt a bit about what is good vs bad bamboo, but have lots yet to go on that score. Main thing is bamboo is rarely "bad", but there is better than just "good" too. The club library has a video of Dean Toges' "Hunting the Bamboo Bow" and you have got to watch that! Alan managed to watch it four times in one week and take a pad full of notes hehe (obviously a better and more serious bowyer than we will ever be).

the death of christmas (including a few well placed shots from young Spikey who seems to have a thing about shooting his targets in the crotch. They wouldn't escape because they wouldn't want to live. Also one of the Christmas tree balls that Shalee nailed to the target (bloody big Christmas tree, then, huh? )
