I'm trying to find a cheap supplier of Allum for tanning purposes on the Central Coast of NSW. I know of one place, but it's up at Newcastle. ($30 for 25kg)

Try a chemist pharmacy, a generous pinch of Alum is also good for clarifying muddy water. Not for drinking purposes, but ok to wash with.
