I got a longbow a few days ago when i brought it to the archery club i was shooting better with it than my compound i was shocked to think i have spent over 2000 bucks on a compound bow wen i cld have bought a longbow along time ago for 300 and go just as good.

In my opinion traditional is way better and (ALOT) cheaper. I dont know why just everything about traditional is better but thats just me. :D

you must be one of the lucky ones. Most people find trad harder than wheels - which is fair enough as the let down on a wheely bow should help you aim better.
Comstock says in his book that all the new gadgets are to make archery easier, fair enough too as it gets more people into archery, but at some time the bug will bite you and trad will infect you :)
Only gadget I have ever carried is a spare string :)

Traditional gear is great fun alright, but beware, it can become very addictive.

im with all of you! when i started archery last year after dad wanted to get back into it i wanted a compound but dad told me and my brother to get proper form up with a recurve first. gotta say you get a lot better a lot faster as you really have to focus on your target and coordinate your hands with your vision. and a recurve is a lot lighter than a compound which means you develop a steadier sight window more quickly.
