Trophy room huh I still gotta try and get all the wifes crap out first, hehehehe

I have one fox skin and a 8" sting ray barb, so it doesn't make for much of a pic yet, I do have my bows hanging on a rack on the wall that I made myself.

I think most of us are only interested in bow shot game mate, Thats why its called the bowhunters group. But leave them up there as long as we don't get flooded with rifle pics.

Some good trophys maca.

And I saw it just said trophy room and I didnĂ*t think past that so I 4got about the bow bit lol  I can take it down if people would like??

macka
21-06-05, 09:57 PM
Yeah thats the thing lacking quality only a 27" first goat, 28" 30" 32" but i am very proud of the Rusa :D Pitty he made me cull so many of them with the rifle last time what a waste  T.C. goats are becoming very hard to come by.

There quality if there hard to come by mate.

One of my mates arrowed a 34inch goat in the hills back near home, it was a better trophy then a 40" billy from an out west spot I have hunted.

had the same argument with my missus warlocke. But remember the house is half yours, which means the bedroom wall is half yours, it is then her choice above your side of the bed or in the lounge room.

I struck a deal with the wife. :D
I have one room in the house to put all my archery gear in (after many arguments on why I can not/will not store my bows out in the shed  ) and trophies (heads or skins) on the walls. And she can do what ever she wants with the rest of the house.
I love my wife :P

The bow rack was made from a meat buck I shot last year.

Very nice pete, he does a good job Nigel Thompson. I don't think there is any elk in this fella. By the size of his long head and broad snout he looks like he has a Yugoslavian blood mix there somewhere, maybe a bit of German or English. I spent a bit of time around this type of blood line and he looks just like the fella's we used to handle. Scott

I say you would be right, as if there more Elk in the bread the darker the face gets wile the body color lightens, still nice to think there might be.

The side with the funny crown formation, and the way the photo was taken make it look more Elk like.

Saberhunter,
Since i posted those pics i have taken the horns and mallee stump and lacquered them with spray-on estapol. The horns came up really shiny and look a treat. I can't take another photo to show you because the brass plaque that i have on the mallee stump now has the place name where i took the goat, so it would give it away ( ) and i am also packing to leave tomorrow for QLD for 4 weeks and don't have time.

Definitely, if you are going to keep some horns, lacquer them up. It looks WAY better than normal.

Gday jpbon,

yeh i paid 450 for my mount, but that was for a mate of mine charging mates rates because my dad helped him out in the past doing a good insulation deal for his taxidermy room. He charges normally $550, which i think is an excellent price considering his work.

Its not much but its my best hunting room todate and my favourite spot in the house. Put up a false wall in the garage one side dedicated to hunting the other for craft.

So here is the boys room for planning out hunting trips and drinking coffee.

The false wall, a few pictures to add to it and maybe a few sets of horns still.

Updated hunting room (to keep Warnie happy :) )

The new euro mount western Billy. Still needs a little work, like stainless engraved plate.

And a few horns on the little bit of wall left.

Ok adam, correct me if im wrong, but are they Ken Reichel's record goat horns layign vertically against the false wall in the first picture??? Weren't they a world record set shot in 1998??

Mate terrific room. I absolutly love it. I love that goat mount especially. It has character.

they wouldnt be Ken's as i see Ken's goat everytime im in tamworth picking something up from north west lol the mount sits proud above the counter in the shop and has done so for many years.
it is a huge goat worth seeing
there are bigger and better things in tamworth then the golden guitar lol

WOW, haven’t seen this thread before. Now I know where all the good deer and goats have gone!
Id hate to be in some of those rooms during an earth quake, it could get real ugly.:P
