Hi guys,
Few days ago I decided I’d go check out a property that I have permission on but never been to before. So asked the girlfriend to come along and have a look with me, bags packed went up to the property around 1pm within 10 minutes I saw the first mob of goats and a nice looking black billy and considering I hadn't been on a hunt with my bow in about 2 months I thought I’d start small.
stalking up on the mob had proven to be quit easy compared to other properties I had shot on before as there were very quiet and possibly not even shot at before. Using a fallen dead tree as cover 5 minutes passed and 100 meters covered I was within 10 meters and a clear shot presented itself, for a split second I thought it was all over as the billy stared me down for what felt like forever as soon as his head dropped to feed I nocked an arrow and lifted my bow and he faced me again.
Calmly I drew back and fired hitting him in the chest as he kicked up ran about 5 meters turned and looked back at me to see if it was me that caused the trouble being his last mistake firing another arrow and again through his chest taking off he went down about 30 meters away fallowing the mob another shot presented itself on a small nanny for some meat.
They sat in a small gully 50 meters away watching me so I drew back and fired, the arrow flying just above him so I lowered my pin and fired again hitting him through the front of the chest and was pleased he went down straight away that being an extra bonus meaning the meat would be in better nic.
Happy as first kill this year better late than never.

Unfortunately I didn’t have time to get photos of the first billy as I had to find my arrows and prep the nanny to take out to get the meat but his horns weren't big they would have only been about 30-40cm long each.
In any case it is a great property plenty of water in a major dam and its pretty easy walking country.
Thanks, SG
