on sunday we had an outdoor club shoot with the bowbenders of the great divide and i was really happy with my score so i was ready to go for a hunt that afternoon.
i very rarely hunt with bow on our place beacause the rabbits are very touchy from being shot and ferreted. i walked down the front of our place and into the neighbours were it was already about 7 o clock and getting dark. i saw a few rabbits but they were ony young and out of the way of my favourite spot. i hadnt shot any game before with my bow and was really hoping for a bunny today. i approached the spot with extreme care and the bracken fern was so thick they were only 10 metres away but i couldnt even see them  . so after seeing one and having an unsuccessful stalk i went on to find a better spot i didnt know of, the only problem was that there were sheep between me and the warrens. i tried to climb through the fence quietly but the sheep noticed me and ran fair over the warrens. i was watching near the warrens when a pair of flicking ears caught my attention.
i got on my stomach and put a rock about a 6 inches tall between me and the rabbit and began to move. i strated about 40 metres away and didnt think i could shoot this far well so i stalked in to about twenty meres. i had to get up on my knees and then onto one foot and one knee to get a clear shot. he noticed me and went wide eyed but it was too late because i was at full draw with a shaving sharp tusker spirit on the end. i rested the twenty metre pin on is shoulder and let the string slp through my fingers and i saw the arrow fly straight through him an i thought i had missed because of the way he jumped and ran down the hill. i jumped up and looked over the hill to see him dead about ten metres away. it was about 8 oclock and almost pitch black so there was no time for photos and i ran the 3 ks home to tell mum and dad my story.

Thats good work i reakon rabbits would be one of the hardest animals to shoot because of their size.
