Woohoo!
Last night 'verminbeware' and i pasted our R-licence :) and now on the lookout for a good state forest to go pig and/or goat hunting. Any suggestions fella's?
We are both based in the Canberra region so anywhere north to Bathurst and south to the border is an option at the moment.
We are more than happy if some other fellow bowhunters want to come along for a weekend of hunting/camping.

There are plenty of goats in the Pensylvania state forest, also red deer and the occasional pig. It is pretty mountainous country. Perhaps look up the Game Council web site, they might have maps to assist you. This would be a good place to start and lay flat a few goats, whistle a fox etc. Cheers Howie

Another place that is closer is Hampton State Forest, I have hunted near there and saw some nice billies, supposed to be a few fallow in spots. How's that as a start guys, Howie

I think the latest/recent issue of Bowhunting Down Under Magazine had a breakdown of which areas had which types of animals as per the reports the Game Council are receiving from the hunters who actually go there.

Here is a GC page that gives you an idea where to go for each species

You will find that any forest between Canberra and the coast, and all the way to the Vic border, all have game in them to hunt. Not all of them have goats, but all of them have deer :)

Thanks everyone for the info :D. The site that jindydiver showed me was great.
Is there anything else in the wee jasper/ tumut area apart from rabbits? the wee jasper area is hilly and has pine plantions through it.
