Brownie came home from uni this long weekend and Sat morning we went for a hunt on the fallow and goats. Because of uni and work he had not been out for a propper hunt in a good few months. The fallow were not going to be easy as the wind was in the wrong direction to approach them on this property and as a result we only saw one. We busted a couple mobs of goats and as the temp was ment to be getting into the 40's we started to walk out at 9am but were keen to find some goats.
We smelt them first as we walked allong the top of a ridge so we stalked down into the wind. We came across a mob of about a dozen or more billies with nothing over 30" in the mob. we watched them for about 20 mins before they moved into some better stalking country. Brownie was in the lead with me hot on his tail with the camera rolling. We popped our head up over the rocky ridge and there not 20m away was a couple white billies. Brownie asked which one was bigger and i said the back one (meaning the one at the back of the mob) but he thought i ment the one furtherest away from us. He drew back and sent a shot angling through the billy exiting his armpit. The mob ran about 20m and propped. I got a range on a big shaggy grey billy and sent my arrow the 43m to pass straight through him. The final result two happy bowhunters :D even if brownie shot a smaller billy than what he could have lol but mix ups do happen hey.
