i know this is sposed to be about trad gear - just a hello for glenn. to compensate - i have a defiant longbow 64 inch -60lb at 28 1/2 draw made by glenn - what a bowyer. and hell its such a nice bow to shoot - i dont think i will ever want another bow unless i wear this one out. imo - screw black widow and other expensive yank bows - get a good ausy bow for half the price - 5 times the value. please lets not get too emotional over what i just said . brian out

G'day Brian how's everything going mate. I was just going through my bow order book today and saw your name there and was wondering how you were going. Are you getting much archery inover there and have you had much of a chance to check out the traditional archery there?...Glenn...

I am a bit out of building bows for now as I got myself mixed up in a house fire and had my ute and all of my tools destroyed in the fire, so when I am back on my feet with new tools I will start building bows again. I am going to make a new recurve when I do start again but I'm keeping the Defiant longbow...Glenn...

yeah i'm certainly no veteran of archery and i haven't shot more than 3 or 4 longbows in my time - but when i first shot the defiant i knew that was how it feels to shoot a really well made/designed bow. glenn knows his stuff. it was sooo smooth to draw, quiet as a bee farting and i belive (though haven't chronied) its a bit faster than my samik talon recurve which also pulls about 60lb at 28 1/2 inches draw. bye the way i am not saying black widows are a crap bow - far from it - they are beautifully made bow and i hear they shoot really well too. my point was basically that we should always keep in mind that there are some bloody good ausy bowyers out there and that we should give them all the support we can as trad bow custommers.

by the way glenn is this the recurve you told me about in aus? 52 inches long? is it going to be takedown or one piece? anyway when you're back on your feet please tell me as i'd love to put my name down for one - i certainly hope to be cashed up somewhat when i get back home from japan.

The 52" recurve when I make it will be a one piece but I will be making a take down bow as well but it wil be a 60" bow...Glenn...

sounds good mate. will the take down be the same design in terms of reflex/deflex etc.- just a bigger/longer riser? or a completely different bow? 52" sounds like the thick bush/scrub bow to end them all - but i love the ability to break it down for travel/packing etc. hell if i can afford it - might want to get one of each when i get back. we"ll see though - time will tell. have you made any prototypes or are you still on the drawing board at the moment? if you have i'd love to see some pics. you've already got me drooling over here mate.

The 52" recurve will be a different bow to the 60" take down but the 60"t.d. and one piece will be the same bow. I haven't made any prototypes yet but I do have one on the drawnig board...Glenn...
