I'm hoping to get over to Kangaroo Island in about 4 weeks and could use some ideas. Up to now we have used various rabbit distress calls and whistles for foxes and cats.

At K.I. there are no rabbits so I am wondering what to use? :?
Spikey (my son) has made a cd for some rabbit distress calls which works really well . Does anyone know where we could find any other calls that could be useful for cats?

The main target over there is going to be pigs and goats but a few cats would be nice to help out the wild life.

Predators being hard wired killers should come to any distress call - regardless if it's familiar to them or not.

I'd certainly not write of the normal fox whistles mate :P

Have you hunted over there for them before? If you have, have you had any success with the traditional whistles?

This is going to be my first time hunting over there.

I normaly go once a year for the fishing and marron so this will be different.

I've got a friend with a property but the scrub is very thick. He said with a weeks notice he would gather up road kill and dump it in one area to attract pigs. It should hopefully make it a bit easier for Spikey's and my first pig hunt.

when i got my standard Fox whistle i tried it out on my cat even tho we live in a pretty big town with no rabbits the sound made her crazy and she ran to it everytime.....

I have brang cats in with both whistle and predator call, if you see one hunting around try the mouse sqeeke it gets em every time. jerry
