Well this is the Stag I took while on my hunt with NormGunsten last week.
Got him when he decided to come in for a drink 34 yards from the blind we had built.

Hey Bill,
Good one mate, what the go with the drop tine. Must be the bloody American in you, can not get away from drop tines & non typicals. He is a ripper of a Stag. It's about time you got a deer here in Aus. Next trip you will have to come down my way. I am sure Magenta & Morag will fill in the time at the shops when we are up at the Red deer block.
Grunter
Good stuff mate, I hope my mate looked after you ok?

Puk, Yes he is getting mounted.
Peter, he did look after us yes.
Grunter, you know I enjoy the odd racks more than the perfectly semetrical ones. I wouldnt even think of taking another deer until I had gotten this one.
I also chased a one antlered fallow for about 2 1/2 days and have the scars to prove it. I didnt get him though.
Thanks for the kind words everyone.
As soon as Norm gets to a computer he will post some of his own.
Bill
Top deer Bil well done

Top deer. It looks even better on the computer when you can have a good look at it, instead of the small screen on the camera.
It was good meeting you at the get together the other night.
Cheers Shane
That is a great looking deer mate, very well done :!: :!: :D 8)

Pat,
All the deer are indeed free range.
It was a guided hunt the first day or so. Then we went pretty much on our own as soon as the guide realized we wouldnt get ourselves lost.
Bill
Pearla mate, great to see.

Great stag mate. It's great that you got from a blind that you set up yourself too. Makes it all that more satisfying when your hard worked plans come together.

How "Wild Bill" got his name.
We were sitting in the blind watching burgers (cattle) and mobs of reds come in past our blind on the second morning of the hunt. I spotted the big red droptine stag that Wild Bill had becom very loud and animated about the day before sauntering down the track towards us. I was first up for a shot but had no interest in a stag, as I was after a doe for meat. I casually leaned over my shoulder and whispered to WBill that his mate was coming over for a yarn. The following exchange ensued:
Bill- "YOU GUNNA SHOOT HIM?????"
Ant- "Nah, mate".
Bill- "Then GET THE FU#K OUTTA THE WAY!!!!!!!!"
I've not seen a bloke move into action so fast. Kill Bill despatched the critter with a very confident shot soon after. The photos tell the rest of that story.
I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to be able to learn so much from experienced bowhunter in the field.
ROFLMAO!!!!

I didnt think you were going to get out of the way on time. I was a tad errrr excited.
As I recall you were kind of excited the next day when we were standing over your first bow kill...
It was a great time for sure.
When is the next trip???
Grunter,
