I recently received two PUP ("Pull Up Points") from Jesse (Woodstoker) and agreed to review them. Now I know that Jesse is no skilled engineer and my initial thoughts were that they were of inconsistent design. Basically they are 125 gr field points into which Jesse has drilled two holes and inserted cross members, however, the two that I received had vastly different in length cross members. Now I don't know if mine were "proto types" but it seems that a more uniform design is warranted as I had distinct concerns for the aerodynamics. Anyway..onto the testing.... As my mate Jeff (jeffro) having gained access to several properties (on the generous offer to assist the owners in the culling of their rabbit population), had also offered to assist one of the owners with an electrical connection requiring the digging of a 40m trench some 50cm deep, by hand, into which to lay conduit and cable, I had agreed to assist him..(oh my aching back) I also thought this was a good time to test the PUPS so with the larger of the heads I proceeded to shoot into some grass about 6cm high to check the "anti snaking" properties.. the result...one lost arrow... As it was now lunch time I thought I might get a few more shots in and it was then that I spotted a little grey bunny about 30m away hiding in the grass. Upon selecting the smaller head of the PUP I placed my 30m pin on his shoulder and I was pleased that the arrow flew true and smacked him where I had been aiming at his shoulder..the result one grassed bunny..(pic taken by Jeffro with his mobile)

So...although the PUPS possibly still have some design flaws to iron out..they seem to fly well and do the job...I also accept that even judo's or similar heads with "anti snaking" properties may have been hard pressed in long grass...All in all the PUPS get the "thumbs up" so well done Jesse !! :D :D

Johnno,
Good to see you in the action.
Whistled any foxes on these rabbit properties? If not pull out the tenterfield fox whistle and have a crack. There are foxes in them there hills.

It pinned the bunny to a slightly raised dirt mound behind it otherwise no doubt woud have been a pass through. :D :D
